    • Loose Parts Inside, cycles too much for high volume
Came in solid wooden crate. Great packing. Everything came as you’d expect I don’t how “portable” it is. It weighs 200lbs and doesn’t have wheels. I’m going to get a base with wheels for it. It’s short, so it would be nice on a truck or trailer. When we turned it on all was good, until the compressor kicked on. It sounded like the fan blade were hitting something. After opening the unit up I discovered that a screw was missing. The screw holds a solenoid, and this solenoid was dangling and getting hit by the fan. $0.14 screw from Ace solved the problem. Rather easy fix Over all the unit works great and we’re enjoying it! Update: March 21, 2023 I’ve had the unit for a while now. It’s been up a running daily for about 10 weeks. What I’ve noticed is you have to let it cycle and harden up..otherwise after a couple pulls, it comes out very thin. If we get busier, I’ll get another one of these. While cleaning I found damage on the mixing shaft. I contacted the seller and they responded promptly. Very easy to work with and ordering new parts now. Knowing I can contact the manufacturer directly for parts is why I’ll get another unit if we need to. Update: March 28, 0224 Unit is still up and going strong! After a year I had to replace the belts, Grease the gear box and get need gaskets on the rotating augers/spindle (the thing that spins and makes the ice cream, there's a gasket in the back of it where it presses onto the square shaft from the gear box.) Typical maintenance as it's been running 8hr/day, 7 days/week....only been off maybe 2weeks total over the past year. The Seller, again very accommodating, supplied me with replacement gaskets and a couple new spindles. If the room temp get around 80deg F, the machine shows an error and shuts off. I've learned the temperature differential between the machine and the room temp need to be far apart, not sure on an exact number yet. But reducing the hardness will correct it...or AC (but the machine kicks out its own heat too). Overall, still quite satisfied with this unit! ... show more
