I purchased the gold silver, black green and black purple 1kg rolls. I ran this through my Bambu X1 Carbon. The filament rolls are made out of plastic and fit well in the AMS. I tuned the filament extrusion profile and was able to achieve a super smooth finish including the top layer. I printed the Bambu test cube and a vase - worked very well and without any issue. These test prints were done at 220 degC, 0.16 mm layer height. Will definitely purchase again! ... show more

I've been through maybe 5 rolls and it's one of my go-to materials. It looks great and prints fine. I get bit of stringing with stock silk profiles but no adhesion or quality issues. So, I typically just use the bambu stock silk setting with a slower first layer. The appearance and color look kinda like an oil slick, which is very cool. ... show more

    • Was good for a while but QC seems to have dropped off hard.

*Updated review* For a while this stuff was my go to for dual and tricolor filament, but their QC seems to have dropped to near zero. at this point I've gone through 3 of their 10 packs in the past 2 months. The first had 2 bad spools in it, the second had one, and in the third I have yet to find anything that'll actually print for more than a few hours without jamming due to the extreme variation in the width of the filament. Because of the good experiences I've had in the past I gave this brand a few chances, but when you have to return over $500 I think its time to call it, I'm not sure if the stuff they put in the 10 packs is worse than the single rolls, but it definitely seems like it. Hopefully the quality of their product improves in the future. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Old review* I really like this stuff, Kingroon has some of the most reasonably priced dual, and tricolor filaments I've found and the print quality is consistently good with only a little bit of drying. However recently I've been running into issues where about 10-20 times per spool the filament will be wound so that it pinches between the spool and the the inner wound layer causing it to snag and be unable to feed. It hasn't caused the filament to break, but it has snagged hard enough that my filament dryer has been pulled out of place. If i was using this on a printer without a filament sensor in the extruder this issue would have caused nearly every print from the last 12 or so spools to fail. Hopefully they'll get the problem under control soon, I'd really like to not have to babysit the filament spool all day. ... show more

Super aesthetically pleasing. Color transition reminds me of bismuth. Affordable. On fourth print so far and no issues. First print was a fairly complex and detailed statue of a sandworm from dune blown up to 140% scale to fill the build plate, 20hour print, came out brilliantly. To be fair tho I’m printing on a k1 and she’s typically brilliant with new filament. Think a lot of the reviews that say their first few were great then everything fell apart might be keeping their filament in open air. I put my whole set up in a 60”x60” grow tent, and then have a separate enclosure around the k1(tho that’s unnecessary with pla and I leave it open). After a series of hot end/nozzle jams I’ve started putting silica packets in strategic places inside the tents and then I seal the craft enclosure whenever I’m not in it ... show more

Friends recommended Kingaroon for great print quality, color, and price. I bought a roll and despite all our efforts, poor layer adhesion mid print. Seller promptly refunded me in full, without me even asking or needing to return it. Listening to friends advice again as they swore it must of just been a one off, I ordered another Kingaroon reel and I was quite happy with it. I have since ordered several now without further incident and I love it. Great color and print quality even at high speeds.     • Very good filament for the price, but....
The filament has been great, the texture is fantastic and the end result is crisp and clean. The issue is the spool they run the filament on is extremely fragile with 3/3 broken spools that needed to either be repaired or the entire product needed to be replaced. I end up patching them up with superglue + baking soda and it fixes them for until it runs out. ... show more
