  • It does what it's designed to do
I have been thinking of the best way to describe this product, but I think everyone else has pretty much said it. It fills in the missing bass for the factory system. It's that simple. It creates the balanced system that should come standard. It would also be dependent on install location and the type of vehicle. If you put it under the drivers seat, it will be more prevalent than if you install it in the trunk. I did a ton of research on this before buying and I am satisfied with the purchase. That being said, I installed it in a 2024 Telluride with the Harmon Kardon system. Had no low end so this was desperately needed. I installed in the hidden trunk compartment in the floor. I can still use most of that compartment for storage. It was a simple install that took about 3 hours. I ran the high inputs from the existing sub thinking that system already had that signal filtered for lows only. I was correct. All I had to do was remove a few of the plastic pieces in the truck well and a screw to pop the rear of the side panel out. That's all you need to do to access the sub wiring. It's a dual voice coil so there are 2 channels. Tapped into that wire at the connector by inserting 4 small blade connectors in the back side of the harness. You can cut the wires, but I wanted to be able to return everything to factory if needed. After that, I grounded the amp to the inside well where the jack goes as there is already a hole there designed to ground the tow package. Then ran the power, remote, and volume control to the front. It was pretty simple and I didn't have to remove any trim. The wires are small an can be pushed up under fairly easily. There was one screw for the large side piece trim under the 3rd row. I used a stubby screwdriver to get it so I didn't have to take out the seats. Attached the remote wire to the ACC fuse with a fuse tap and attached the power wire to the battery. Put the volume control under the steering wheel. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! I have the gain at 3/4, the bass boost about the same, and the crossover at 70hz. The volume knob is at 50% so on those songs where I want more, I have it. Keep in mind that the signal is lower power than if I had tapped into the front speakers. I get zero distortion at any level and it sounds good. I can certainly tell a big difference even with the car loaded with suff. It doesn't rattle the mirror or any other interior trinkets, but the kick drum is there and creates a complete sound stage. Sound preference is subjective and I find that the more music I listen to the more I tweak everything. I like it and would recommend the product even at the price. Kicker makes good stuff IMO. As SO MANY OTHERS have said, look elsewhere if you want the window rattling thump, but you are in the right place if you want a factory setup to feel complete. Works great in the Telluride! ... show more

  • Sounds great, you MUST dial in the settings
Upgraded from a Kenwood 8" compact subwoofer to this Kicker 10" model, due to the 8" clipping at moderate volume. There is a lot more to work with at 10" for sure. Install went great, don't forget a KISL wiring accessory to be able to use RCA (low-input) connectors. Fits great under my drivers seat, cabling is well designed (use black heat shrink for your splices). Comes with a 15 amp fuse for the battery terminal, and has a built in 15 amp fuse at the amplifier, really solid design. I've installed a lot of subwoofers over the years, and holy moly did this one take some work to dial-in. Gain is set at 0 out of the box, and by zero, I don't mean 0dB gain.... I mean 0% volume. Hz range is from 50-120, only at 100Hz was this sub able to cover the full range of EDM I listen to, everything from hardstyle to happy hardcore. Great sub, plenty of power, and the volume knob is flawless. Expensive at nearly $300, but you get what you pay for, it sounds absolutely amazing. I don't need brain rattling, mirror-cracking bass, just some quality sound when paired with JL Audio 6.5" coaxial speakers, fills in the low-end very well. Very happy with my purchase, hopefully you will be do -- just remember to test, test, test those adjustment dials. ... show more

  • Adds warmth and depth to sound
When I replaced the factory speakers in my 2017 4Runner with kicker all around, it sounded good but definitely left a "hole" in the sound. This fit snugly under the passengers seat and drastically improved the bass. As well, now that the head unit can focus on the mids and highs, I get much more overall volume. This did exactly what I was hoping it would do - but better, couldn't be happier with it. ... show more

  • Kicker 10" sub
Works and sounds great. Improved my sound system vastly. Fits where a tradition amp and sub wont.

  • Simple add that inserts missing deep sound
**Update** After some tweaking and wiring changes; this now is actually a beast. I had to turn the bass down because it was over taking the mid and high range. Inside the gladiator you absolutely hear and feel it. Not vibrate your body feel but def feel it. The stock system is t putting out a ton of power so this isn’t getting all it can, but this 1000% increased the low notes and increases bass hits. It’s still new so hopefully it will last. I’m not the type the puts it on max all the time. It’s nice to know it’s there if I want it. I did get the second one but probably will return it. Now that i have it running properly; I don’t see how I could use two without upgrading all the stock mid/high speakers and adding amps to those. The low is so boosted that I have my stock set to -2 to force more mid/high range out of the stock roll and dash speakers. Even at this rate they are still taken over. Still dialing in gain abs x-over but will get there. For a little over $300 this is perfect for the value. **Original** This is def not a thumper. I’m not even sure how it would crackle it doesn’t seem to pull that much power. Coming from a Jeep that did thump with stock sub, this isn’t even close. However, having no bass for 2 weeks this def added that much needed bass for all notes. Still dialing it in. I’m not hearing any difference with and adjustments so far. I’m tempted to add a second to give it that little more but we shall see. Now being in a gladiator I’m limited on space. It currently sits blocked and I feel what is covering it is also absorbing some of the air movement. I may have to move it so there is a bit more space for air movement. It won’t be moving much air; but right. Or it’s moving almost none due to the way it’s positioned. Overall; it’s priced about right for what it does. You could spend a little more and get a decent thumper. It’s only 150w so don’t expect to get much out of it. But if you have no bass at all; you will be very happy with its addition. ... show more

  • Plenty of bass for price
It’s a compact perfect added touch to regular decent speakers. You will need auxiliary wires and quick connect for your dash radio to make install easier
