    • Major Upgrade for Kentoktool!

I am not a hobbyist and use my lasers for cutting and decorating leather for my leather business. I do use lasers for personal items as well but I am extremely judicious in what I purchase. Prior to my first Kentoktool purchase a few years ago, I had tried a number of well known brands of lasers with positive reviews, but all were returned due do some major flaw. Some were used and sent, supposedly in error, some were simply defective. My 5 watt Kentock LE400 was excellent! Well made, no defects and worked flawlessly for some time. As soon as they released their I jumped on it and was not disappointed I used it daily. I then undertook a large project that required an extended bed, but unfortunately there was no extension kit available. I fashioned my own and was able create an extended harness that worked flawlessly. The LE400 Pro is used constantly for larger projects and the JL7 is used as often as possible, as it is actually superior in build and stability resulting in much better engraving at higher speeds. In addition, the laser module has more clearance that the LE400, once the guide is removed easily clearing the magnets I use as work holds. Setup of the JL7 is a breeze, the Kentoktool manuals are out standing and the 30L air assist out performs the Xtool Air Assist I purchased for almost double what the Kentoktool product cost. I have tried to graft a 20 and 30 watt laser to the LE400 but the frame, which is fine for the 5 and 10 watt modules coughs up blood with a 20 or 30 watt module. The JL7 should have absolutely no issues upgrading to a module that weighs twice or three times that of the 10 watt. I will be first in line for that upgrade. In thinking about any negatives, really none come to mind. It is a solidly built machine which can easily handle daily use in a commercial environment. The air assist works perfectly and I have had absolutely no crud on the protective lens after many hours of use. Finally KentoTool's customer support is beyond reproach! I returned a well know brand of laser which stated 24/7 customer service...no response what-so-ever. That's why I will continue to support the good people at Kentoktool, they care about their customers. I recommend this and ANY Kentoktool without hesitation! ... show more

I would like to preface this review by pointing out that this is one of those listings that the reviews apply to multiple different products so please be careful. I ordered to use this laser bed NOT as a replacement for a Kentoktool engraver. As of writing this review, the base alone is not currently available. When ordered, they advertised this base being a great stand-alone item to be used especially with the hand-adjustable laser engravers. When we got our LaserPecker, that was one of my struggles to find good materials to place underneath it while etching. This was the thing I didn't know we needed. Now while my etcher only has a 4x4 etching ability, it did come with this cube-like protective box that needs to stay level to engrave properly. It also can still generate quite a bit of heat and smoke depending on the material even using their approved materials and the provided exhaust fan. I had been using a lot of cardboard underneath which didn't always stay level due to folds from being from boxes. This bed comes with a good-sized square honeycomb which is what is visible and seen in every professional laser engraver and a same-sized solid metal sheet with measurements on it. Trying to line up where the laser is going to engrave on the material is so much easier with this and it not only gives a nonflammable surface to work on but provides ventilation underneath the materials like other laser engravers. I have no clue how well this works as an actual replacement for a Kentoktool engraver bed but I can say with confidence that their statements about this being able to be used for other hand-held laser engravers and other applications are very accurate. The main thing that bugs me about this listing is the reviews are all lumped together with little indication of which product is being reviewed. I know some sneaky sellers will try to do this on purpose to try to get a bunch of good reviews on lower-end products so that they can just switch the listing and the reviews stay for their more expensive product. I have no idea if they are doing that or whether this bed is just out of stock but if you take enough time to read this, know if you are buying their laser engravers that are hundreds of dollars, many of the reviews may seem like they are for that but could also be for something else. It is hardest to tell when people don't post actual words, just click on the star ratings. There is no way to know where those 4+ ratings came from. ... show more

    • Good laser base
This is a nice small laser honeycomb work area. The rubber feet keep it from slipping and hold it securely. These had to be stuck on, but it was simple. It’s a solid flat surface for the piece to be burned on, and works. There are ruler markings on two sides showing centimeters in white on the black so they are easy to see.     • Great Laser Engraver & Cutter
We have two laser engravers, with this one being the first one we ordered. Unlike the other one, this one was VERY easy to put together and set up. Once you figure out what program to use, it's really only a matter of figuring out numbers, centering, and finding items to cut/engrave. We had it out of the box, set up, and being used in only an hour or so. The other one we own - a more expensive one - took days just to get set up and ready to go. We've made a lot of things with this so far, mostly Christmas ornaments on wood. We're even experimenting with adding photos to wood. We'll definitely be getting a lot of use out of it. ... show more
