Features

  • INTELLIGENTLY CHANGING THE WAY YOU FISH - The iReel One pairs with your smartphone and the KastKing App via Bluetooth, incorporating precise motion capture sensors in the spool assembly. This provides casting data, including casting distance, max. casting speed, post-cast line out, retrieval speed & cadence, and casting duration. All data can be stored offline, catering to on-the-go anglers. Enjoy an exceptional battery life, up to 120 days in hibernation mode or 30 days of 4-hour daily fishing.
  • ADVANCED DIGITAL BRAKING TECHNOLOGY - iReel One introduces Intelligent Frequency Control (IFC) to evaluate casting variables such as spool speed, inertia, and line tension to optimize performance in real-time, eliminating backlashes and ensuring smooth and accurate casts regardless of wind speed or lure weight. IFC microcontroller sensors within the frame and side plate analyze spool data and automatically apply or release a sophisticated electromagnetic braking system in a non-linear fashion.
  • ENHANCED CASTABILITY - The uniquely shaped and rotating Axis Eye presents a very wide line-out aperture and a straight shot off the reel and through the line guides for longer and more accurate casts. The line guide features a super slick silicon nitride coating that offers excellent heat dissipation allowing braid, monofilament, and fluorocarbon lines to glide freely across the surface with minimal restriction.
  • BEAUTY COMBINED WITH COMFORT - Its sleek and stylish electroplated finish is both attractive and durable while maintaining a low-profile, 41.5mm design for ultimate comfort and is truly a pleasure to hold all day. This is ideal for those who palm their reel while twitching jerkbaits or prefer to keep a finger in contact with the line as a lure is falling in deep water.
  • SPEED AND STRENGTH - The 7.2:1 gear ratio is ideal for a variety of popular fishing techniques, including topwater lures, jerkbaits, jigs and more. The high gear ratio is useful when anglers need to get the lures back to the boat in a hurry, particularly when getting fish away from docks, weeds and other cover. The carbon fiber drag washer, 7075 aluminum main gear and the brass pinion gear all work together to provide up to 16 pounds of smooth, fish-stopping power.

  • Finally Raising The Bar
Style: Left Handed-7.2:1
The media could not be loaded. Man oh man this thing is slick. This is my first smart reel and I couldn’t be more excited. I Have always to see how i actually fish and with the smart phone connection feature I will finally be able to see real life data on my cast, retrieving and fishing styles. Being able to store this information will allow me to focus on areas that I’d like to improve on as an angler. One of the key features for me is the digital breaking system. Backlashing is alway on the front of my mind when fishing lighter lure as well as in high wind situations. Having a reel that compensates for my casting style in various situations maximizes my ability to fish tougher areas and make more precise cast. No more worrying about whether I have my brakes set correctly. Connecting to the app on my iPhone was quick and easy. You will need to input your setup information before it starts analyzing how you fish. It’s pretty cool that you can actually use the map in order to let the app know exactly where you’re fishing The glossy shine makes the ireel look and feel Hi End and sets it apart from many of my other setups. It’s not too bulky and feels eight in my hand. I’ll be pairing it with a 7.6 heavy rod for fishing topwater and jigs. With up to 16 lbs of drag, horsing in the snakehead will be a piece of cake. Overall i am super excited with my ireel and can’t wait to hook into my first Mondo. ... show more

  • Great reel, new step towards fishing
Style: Right Handed-7.2:1
The reel is great. It has a Bluetooth feature, which gives you specs of reel and the casting on it is smooth and consistent. It also has an auto braking feature which I like. It’s a bit iffy sometimes but overall a great reel 10 out of 10.

  • Nice Reel, Easy App
Style: Right Handed-7.2:1
Nice reel, smooth return, easy app to navigate. Not crazy about the chrome finish because of glare.

  • $25 reel with $325 of technology that doesn’t work.
Style: Right Handed-7.2:1
The reel does not feel like quality. Materials feel like plastic and the seems don’t join up throughout. USB C port is crooked and twisted in the housing. I could forgive most of that in a $50 reel but in a $350 reel…? Outrageous. First thought in removing from the box was “this is a cheap piece of …….” I will say that the retrieval seemed like it would be smooth but I was concerned about the cheap plastic line guide they used. Worst part is that the app is completely unusable. “Connection error” each and every time I started the app. Tried it on 5G. Tried if on Fiber WiFi. Tried it on 2 different phones. No connection no matter what I tried. A+ for the idea and trying to innovate. D for the product that was delivered. F for the glitchy trash they call an App. ... show more

I applaud KastKing for pushing the envelope and giving us a reel with features no other reel has. The question is, will those features make you a better angler and help you catch more fish? The big deal about the iReel is it has built in electronics that let the reel sync up with a KastKing app on your phone. It was easy to download the app and sync up the reel. The reel and app record casting data and retrieve speeds. It was fun the first time I used the reel to review that data. I was particularly fascinated to find out when I whipped out a good cast, my swimbait was traveling over 50 miles per hour. The fun and novelty of that data wore off pretty quickly and the app hasn't been used since. I don't see how knowing how many casts I made and how far I cast is going to help me catch more fish. A battery and electronics takes some space, so the iReel has a little added bulk and weight for a feature I won't use. Another issue with the data recording is many anglers, including myself, carry many rods rigged with different lures for different techniques and we switch up often over the day. This means the iReel is only capturing data for part of your fishing trip, unless you have an iReel on every rod (if the app allows you to sync up multiple reels at once). I find the backlash control feature works well. If you are just learning how to use a baitcaster then you may find that feature helpful. I've noticed the iReel is noisier than my other baitcasters during the cast. It is not loud or obnoxious, but it is noticeable. I guess that is the sensors and backlash controls working. The shiny chrome finish is purely a cosmetic feature that is design to catch fishermen. It definitely won't help you catch more fish, and in some cases may cause you to catch less fish when light reflecting off that shiny reel spooks the fish. I do love the subtle clicking noise the outgoing drag makes. I should point out I could not substantiate KastKing's claims that the iReel produces 16 pounds of drag. With the star drag cranked down as tight as I could get it, I could only muster 6 pounds of drag. That is adequate for me but might not be sufficient for others. Overall, the iReel is smooth and easy to use, but there are plenty of other reels that are smooth and easy to use. If you think you would find the casting data helpful then go for it. Otherwise, experienced anglers can find plenty of other baitcasters that cast and retrieve just as well as the iReel and don't cost $350. I have a KastKing Bassinator baitcaster that I think functions just as well as the iReel and cost me less than half the cost of an iReel. ... show more
