Installation wasn't too bad. Make sure you don't inflate it too much prior to installing the aluminum floor. I bought it to use as a dinghy on a 53' boat and added a 9.9 HP Mercury. Very happy with its performance and carrying capacity. It only comes with one seat, not two like the picture. I'll be ordering the second seat, but I wish I had known that up front so that I could have ordered it with the boat. Update: Been using it for 2 years now and still very happy with it. With the 9.9 HP motor it will do 19 mph. With 2 people 17 mph and with 3 people 15 mph. That is on a normal day with chop. On a calmer day you might gain 1 or 2 mph. With 1 or 2 people it gets on plane pretty fast and stays on easily, with 3 it struggles getting on plane and staying on plane. It can take a 15 HP motor and that probably won't change how fast it gets on plane, but will probably improve the top end a little and help maintain plane easier with 3 people. However, normally you don't max out the HP on these boats. I am happy with the 9.9 HP performance. ... show more

It should come with two seats instead of just one. I had to purchase another seat, but they sent the wrong one to fit the boat. I am waiting on the correct length seat to be sent. I owned a West Marine inflatable before, but it lasted two years before forming leaks at the seams. This boat seams to be made of the same material, but the seams seem glued/fused better. I did put a larger motor than they called for because I put a Honda 20 on it and they only say you should put a 15 hp on it but the Honda 20 and a Honda 15 weigh the same. I have always had ridged inflatable boats (RIB) but needed a boat that I could pack up and travel with. After doing a lot of research I decided to purchase the 10,8 Killer Whale. I finally got to put it together and get it out on the water the other day and I am very impressed with the quality and the way the boat handles. I had a hard time putting the aluminum floor in the first time because I never did one before so I called the company and within 20 minutes they e mailed me a video on installing the floor. I have a 15 hp motor on it and it planes with 2 people with no problem. I’m so confident in this boat that I’m going to take it out into the ocean and all the places that I would take a RIB.     • GREAT little boat!
This is the third sport boat style inflatable I have had, used as a tender and stored on davits on the back of our Sundancer: a Nissan hypalon 10' 2", a Zodiac 9' 4" and now this, which is by far my favorite. It planes out easier than the Nissan, and MUCH easier than the Zodiac. It is a lot dryer under way than either of the other two boats going through typical Lake Erie chop. Assembly took around 10 minutes, and was a little easier due to the way the side stiffeners attach to the floor plate top ribs rather than over the edge of 3 plywood sections. Handles and rides well.
