  • Great guitar. Poorly packaged.
Color: Pearl White
The guitar arrived on time. Guitar arrived in one cardboard box from guitar manufacturer with little to hardly any styrofoam to keep the guitar from being damaged during transport. The bottom of the box was damaged. Luckily the guitar wasn't damaged. Guitar came properly setup. Really nice guitar from top to bottom. Beautiful white Preal finish, light weight, and thin bridge. Definitely recommend this guitar for beginners to even advanced players. Fells like a professional bass at an unbelievable price........I've purchased several guitars from Amazon and everyone was poorly packaged. Some had to be returned and replaced due to damage. Please double box your guitars and add extra styrofoam. To assure your product arrive safely. Or ship them in a soft guitar case. ... show more

  • great value
Color: Transparent Red
great sounding, inexpensive bass. i am very happy with it, playing it daily. Note: the strings that came with it are junk, and i replaced them immediately with Fender 9050. also comes with adjustment tools which were necessary as the the action needed a lot of adjustment out of the box.

  • May need a setup
Color: Transparent Red
Quite a nice looking instrument. When mine arrived it was untuneable much less playable. There was a back bow to the neck that offered no relief at the frets to most of the way up the neck. Once I adjusted the truss rod, I was able to tune up to a starting point at which time I readjusted until it tuned and played fine. I don't know if it was the weather it went through on it's way to me or it was just horribly setup at the factory. This is my first bass guitar. I've been playing guitar for a long, long time and just couldn't resist getting this bass at the price it was listed at. As I expected there is going to be quite an adjustment to my playing as the lower frets are so far apart and so are the strings but I'm having fun discovering what it's like to play bass. I think for the beginner bass player who doesn't have guitar experience this is a great bass to start with. I find myself looking for the missing strings, especially that third jump between G and B, LOL. Playing guitar for so long has crippled me so far but as I said, I'm having fun. The active equalization really boosts the bass which is welcome considering I crank the treble and midrange up all the way on my amp and mostly keep the tone on the bass all the way up as well. My ear has trouble discerning the really low notes and cranking the tone and treble/midrange on the amp helps quite a bit. I was toying with the idea of trying flatwounds or just new quality strings to see what differences that might make but, overall I can't really fault the instrument as I'm probably the biggest problem the bass itself has. As a side note - my bass didn't come with any adjustment tools. I had a set of metric allen keys so no big deal, but you might want to get a set of your own just in case this is normal for Ibanez. ... show more

  • Gorgeous!
Color: Roadster Orange Metallic
Bought as a gift for my bass player friend, there's a Clockwork Orange style theme to the band so this looked perfect. Would have gone great with the Orange Stained Hollowbody Electric Gretsch I ordered as a gift for the guitar player but there's been a whole issue with the shipping on that item, so we'll see. The bass player likes it but the 5 string is quite different, the neck is much thicker, so I wouldn't recommend a 5 string for beginners but anyone looking to learn something new, anyone who loves a good quality guitar - Ibanez is tried, true, & trusted among many musicians in my life. It shipped and arrived right on time, no issues. A+++ service. Would recommend! ... show more

  • Had To Convert From 4 to 5
Color: Roadster Orange Metallic
After playing 4 string bass (mostly Fender Precision ) for 50 years bought GRS 5 for transition bass only. I was looking for thinnest neck I could find. The sound of this thing is pretty amazing. I'm using it for recording. Nice rich sound. Thin neck makes it quick. Can go deep or funk thin. Have two other 4 string Ibanez basses and have always been good solid sound. Didn't expect the same because of the low price. Very, very impressed with this instrument. Ibanez is tops and rolls with the times making tweaks and improvements year after year. Can't go wrong on this one! ... show more

  • Love it so far
Color: Transparent Red
I was in a garage band years ago and wanted to take bass up again now that there is so much material to study on YouTube and elsewhere. It's been a great one for me so far, solid and playable, sounds good, affordable but not junk, and it even looks good IMO.

  • I paid how much for this?
Color: Black
REALLY??? You just cant get better than this for the price. The neck... wowiee. Id use the word SUPPLE. Its light, well balanced, and the sound is very nice. The extra boost knob... I feel like this was WAY undersold. Its just fantastic in every way, but then you add that extra boost knob and - ooo boy, this thing is a boomer. I don't know, I'm no Les Claypool, but playing this thing is so nice and easy. Ibanez has knocked it out of the park with this one. Quality, value, sound, it has it all. If you want a bass, buy this one, it is just fantastic. ... show more

  • This bass is awesome!!
Color: Pearl White
This bass has a long scale very playable beck and fretboard. Beautiful and very silky pearl white finish. It also has quite a sound as it does equip active electronics with quite an impressive low and mid boost equalizer to get your desired sound. This is easily a bass worth $400-$500 and is high quality to say the least. Very good investment. I will purchase another in a different color. Thanks to Ibanez and Amazon for such a great affordable instrument, and the fantastic offer and prompt delivery of this bass! Brian S. Pace Alamo, Tn ... show more
