Description

Tools required: adjustable wrench, open end wrench or air wrench. DO NOT use impact wrench as it will damage the bead breaker.Step 1: Place bead breaker onto the rim with teeth and breaker foot between rim &tire bead.Step 2: Tighten rim clamp jaw until ”snug” with hand wrench. Make sure bead breaker teeth and foot are against bead.Step 3: Continue tightening with wrench until snug.DO NOT overtighten!!Step 4: Turn bead breaker nut clockwise to engage foot with bead.Step 5: Continue to turn clockwise until bead is broken loose from rim. Process may be repeated in 2 to 3 locations on each side of the wheel.

After several years of using a red Harbor Freight bead breaker to break the bead on tires and fighting every one of them to get any results, I bought this breaker and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. What a difference this makes compared the old semi useless tool. I wrapped the tip of the black arm that grips the rim with some rubber tape before I used it and sucessfully removed beads on several 18 inch aluminum rims without leaving a trace on the rims. This works and works well. It does take some time to break the bead, and them move it to one or possible two other spots around the rim before the whole bead breaks completely off the rim, but it works everytime and with no damage to the wheels. Its very sturdy and well built with 1/4 inch welded plates all around. Nothing flimsy here. Very happy to add this to my stable of tools. ... show more
