Ordered 2 of these 12 inch lanterns for the deck but wanted to also see if they would be large enough for our front entrance. After determining the size was right, we ordered 3 more, 2 for the front and one for garage. Well, after waiting 3 weeks for our electrician to install them, as soon as he saw the first one, he told me the (non removable) backplate wasn’t straight. I saw what he was talking about and was upset. After he unboxed the remaining 4, 2 more backplates were uneven (slanted). Honestly, at $200 each x 5 ($1,000), I expected more. Reluctantly, I had our electrician install them anyways because I was already obligated to pay for him to come out. To have to return all 5 PLUS schedule another appointment for an electrician with a wait time of 3 weeks or more was more than I was willing to deal with. So, if you decide to purchase this product, Buyer Beware and investigate if the backplate is straight or not. ALSO, be advised, despite putting the glass in and pressing the clamps to secure the glass, whenever a door is opened or closed, the glass rattles! Company provided rubber inserts however our climate goes from extreme heat to extreme cold plus humidity and arid so that will not last. Best to use caulking which I feel the company should provide a small (toothpaste like) tube containing clear or black caulking. Just my 2 cents worth. ... show more

These wall light fixtures seem nicely made and I have them on either side of my garage. They look nice if you like this style lamp. They are as easy to install as any wall sconce. If you are replacing a fixture that already has a round mounting bracket it is just a drop in and connect the wires, if not, you will have to know how to mount the bracket to your surface and/or run wires if none currently exist. If you have never mounted anything in brick or concrete, or if you need to run wires to the fixture, I suggest you get some help. Electrically you just connect the hot, neutral and ground wires. I would tell you the 12" fixtures are on the small side. I first tried the 16" version of these fixtures and for a one story garage the 16" fixtures were too big and out of scale, though I think they would have been fine on two story wall. I wish they had a 14" version which would have been perfect for our tastes, but given my choices of 16" or 12" I went with the 12" fixtures. The seller was a pleasure to deal with, accepting my return of the 16" fixtures with no problem though I did return them as good as new. We are very happy with how this light looks but my husband and I both hit our head on the bottom corner and drew blood. Just be aware that they are very sharp if you have them in a high traffic area.

This fixture is not cheap but once it came to the house, it was easy to see why. It is solid! There is nothing flimsy on the product anywhere. As a matter of fact, because it is so well made, it can be a bit tricky to hang it if you are working alone. A second pair of hands would make a big difference. But any inconvenience in hanging it is easily offset by its quality. If you don't like buying a product and finding out it is cheaply made once it arrives, you will be totally satisfied with this outdoor fixture. ... show more

Although I ordered these lights in 2020 they were not installed until this summer of 2021. My first impression was how sturdy these lights were. I did have to use clear caulk when assembling to secure the glass panels better and prevent rattling and movement, but once that was done they were very sturdy and secure. I was pleased with how beautiful they looked installed, and didn't mind how costly they were compared to other manufacturers lights. I felt that the cost was justified. However after only 1-1/2 years the black finish on the top of all the lights is wearing off, leaving a fairly bright orange finish underneath. I've tried to capture this in a photo, but the photo doesn't show the extent of the damage and how visible it truly is even at a distance. Given I bought five different lights (three post lights & two wall sconces) - each at a slightly different stage of wear depending on their location, I'm now extremely disappointed. These are exterior lights and I would expect that the finish would hold up for longer than 1-1/2 years. If you wipe the top of each of these lights it literally comes off. Although quite beautiful These lights are not holding up under the intended use. ... show more

First these are Heavy. Make sure your box's can support it. The build quality looks good. The glass is pretty to look at. I used a led bulb and my house looks great with them. The price was pretty good. Wasn't hard to install. I would recommend 2 people since the weight can make them unmanageable for one person. Once thing I would have liked it a bolt on the top of the back plate to screw the light into. There are only 2 bolts to attach to. One on the right and one on the left. For a heavy light, one on top would help support it. ... show more
