Like a gift from God, this music stand is unbelievable. Immensely stable on the ground level, and soul-soothingly stable at the top. This is not your old, flimsy, folding stand. This is the rock upon which I would build my music career, if I had one to build. I had no idea that folding music stands could feel so secure before this day. Heavy and stiff to just the right extent, with a variety of useful features such as the easy adjustment button, the folding extensions, and the page holder springy things. If you can afford it, totally worth the investment for skipping hours of accidentally knocking the music off a cheaper stand, or knocking the stand off the ground entirely, or accidentally injuring yourself as you slap your head against the cheaper stand in frustration. ... show more

I actually have the heavier hercules music stands I used for years and these are much lighter but built very well. Just pay attention how the clutch works, I can see this is the weak link, but if you learn how it works it will last for years.

I just received this, and I'm thoroughly impressed. I've been looking for a stand that is both compact and folds down to a small size that can fit in my gear bag, and doesn't feel like it will fall over if you put a book on it (as most folding wire stands feel). I've gotta say, this thing feels really sturdy. It doesn't sway, has good rubber feet and has some good heft to it. I can't speak to long-term reliability yet, but it certainly feels like it's well-built and won't be collapsing after a few months the way cheaper wire stands do. ... show more
