I tried a sample box of this Palo Santo and I was sold. I immediately bought the economy size. Real Palo tree resin (which is my absolute favorite) is crazy expensive and needs a disk to burn on, so I save it for special occasions. Now with this, I have 120+ sticks! This incense lights fast and burns clean with a nice, red ember. The box has an Ikea-style picture showing to place the incense tray (with the lighted stick on it) by a cracked window. This method magically diffuses the scent into the room without the thick haze of smoke hanging in the air. You smell lovely incense, not a death cloud. So no, this incense does not smell like the purest Palo Santo resin out there or even an actual stick of it being smudged. This incense smells like a mixture of a bunch of earthy/woodsy scents like sandalwood, mahogany, amber, fall leaves and a slightly sweet tang of what I'm assuming is the Palo scent. It may not be exactly like the real thing, but I still like it. Its soothing and mellow. Other HEM incense sticks that smell similar to this one would be Amber, Copal, Frankincense & Myrhh, Sandalwood, White Sage and Patchouli. I will be buying more big boxes of some of these too because I burn through 10+ sticks a day sometimes. I purchased the Cedar smell as it is one of my favorite smells having grown up camping near the cedar glens in Florida. This incense is not really that smell. It's okay, it's just not great.

French Vanilla smells so good and easily fills the average room with a creamy, sweet (hint of nutmeg) scent which is heaven for those who love the "sweeter" side of aroma therapy. We have an array of scents at home to choose from but this is our go to "flavor" because --- it does smell like FRENCH Vanilla once lit... a deeper, sweeter scent than regular vanilla. We use it not only for meditation but, whenever we want our home to smell yummy (and maybe make the neighbors think we bake vanilla cookies WITH frosting all the time). Yes there are more expensive incense sticks, we have a few of those in stock as well, but honestly #120 under $9.00 during these times' is a wonderful treat.
