  • Sturdy and Easy To Use

This Hendricks was easy to put together and very sturdy.

  • A nice, strong but light-weight cart and hand-truck.
Style: Single
After I lost my traditional hand truck I decided to try this nylon truck/cart combination, and so far it has been a great choice. Because it is nylon it is lighter weight than a steel hand truck, and is much lighter than a steel convertible hand truck/ 4-wheeled car. It is very easy to lift into and out of the trunk of the car. The square beam construction with reinforcing ribs makes it very stiff, so don't worry about that. I have easily carried 120 lbs on it as an upright hand cart and 260 lbs using it as a 4-wheeled cart and it could have easily carried more weight. In my case the limiting factor was size. This is about 2/3 the size of a normal cart, so moving a lot of boxes will take more trips. It easily handles three 16x12x12 moving boxes when used as a hand truck and six when used as a cart. The transition from hand cart to wheeled cart could not be simpler - just pull out the yellow handle and insert it 90 degrees upright. When used as a hand cart the handle length is adjustable. The cart in vertical or horizontal mode is wide enough to be stable when pulled so I had no problem with tipping, and when used as a 4-wheeled cart the swiveling front casters are large enough for easy rolling over door jambs. The base plate is steel and is larger than my old cart, making the cart easier to tip back without having the load fall off the front - a good thing. The steel base plate puts most of the weight near the ground so the cart doesn't have the tendency to fall over backwards when empty like many all-steel carts do. The only negative about this cart is that the rubber wheels are really plastic but have a rubber ring around the edge. I guess that way they could say it has rubber wheels. So although the part of the wheel that touches the ground is rubber, it is clearly not going to be very durable. That's not a huge problem as better wheels can be purchased at any hardware outlet. But I will keep using these until they wear out. The cart comes partly assembled and I only had to attach the base plate (wrenches and/or pliers needed), insert the axle, put on the wheels and drop in the handle. It took all of five minutes. With its black body and yellow handle it is a very attractive cart. The packaging is cardboard with no styrofoam or plastic packaging, so everything except the bag the small parts came in is recyclable. ... show more

  • Impressive
Style: 2 Pack
Wasn't sure these were gonna hold up to the task of moving heavy boxes, but they are great. The handle detaches to be placed in Floor Dolly or Standing Dolly position. it is easy to adjust and quick. We've put some heavy stuff on here and they handle it great. We will be getting one for each of our vans, soon. ... show more

  • OMG!

The media could not be loaded. I love it! I didn't want to rent one for the same price of buying so wha-la! I am moving out on my own to another state! I have amazon tool set and now I have my amazon dolly to help load and unload the little bit of stuff I have. I took no time to put together and I can cart it dolly, just by rearranging the handle. This thing is sturdy. I'll be 65 this year and I feel like a young person moving to college. Thanks for these memories of the move to be. ... show more

  • Excellent Value
Style: Single
Before I purchased this two wheeler, I ordered a Dayton convertible two wheeler from a competing website (after this incident, I will probably never order from them again). The Dayton was about $60, and I became suspicious when I saw the same unit elsewhere for $452! I called the vendor and was assured that there was no mistake. What I actually got was a single replacement wheel! I eventually sorted out the error and got my money back. I mention this because some folk who purchased this Harper have complained about quality. If you intend to traverse multiple city blocks of uneven sidewalk with a couple hundred pounds loaded on one of these, you will be disappointed. I recommend the $452 Dayton for such use, knowing that just one wheel on the Dayton is more money than this entire Harper! That is, if you intend a commercial duty cycle, step up to a commercial hand truck. For household use, this thing is great! Quick, easy assembly, a very solid steel plate to lift heavy objects, a handle that is easily adjustable for three different heights as a two wheeler, and then upright as a four wheeler. I have stood on this thing in four wheel cart configuration (I weigh 240 lb), and no hint of sag. As a home user, I am confident it will serve my needs for a very long time. And, at only $37, I paid just a little more that an eight piece family meal (with drinks) at KFC. The value proposition is undeniable, If your expectations are realistic, you will not be disappointed. I absolutely am convinced that you will never find a better value hand truck! And, it is made in the USA! ... show more

  • I love this for light, bulky loads
Style: Single
So, spoiler alert: As the other reviewers said you are not going to be able to use this for 400 lbs unless you only want to use it a few times before it malfunctions. However, much of this is PLASTIC, so I pretty much expected that. I found the assembly very easy so I am not sure why others found it difficult. Here is how I use this: I have a storage unit where I keep my holiday decorations and seasonal clothing stored in large RubberMaid tubs. I also have some rolled up outdoor rugs that I use in the summer/fall and then store for the colder months. They are awkward for me to carry and I worry about tweaking my lower back. With this I just have to throw it in the SUV and roll the stuff to and fro the unit to the back of the car. Much, much easier. If I were using this for something that was really hundreds of pounds I would spend the money on something that had very sturdy all metal parts. This is a case of you get what you pay for and this is a good alternative if you have light loads. ... show more
