  • The game is awesome! who doesn't like GH
I wanted to write a review for all the people who are wondering about if the games works and if the guitar works on pc. The game is awesome! who doesn't like GH? I was a little sketched about the other reviews saying that it didn't come with the installer but i took the risk and bought it anyway and it works fine! as for the guitar working on your PC it will work but First off, the guitar hero guitar IS NOT A PLUG AND PLAY, you just have to do some work yourself to get the guitar set up. Im using my old ps2 guitar from GH2 and bought a ps2 controller to usb adapter. What you have to do is plug it in and make sure all your buttons are responding with the computer and you can do that by going to settings and look for the device, click on advanced settings and that will let you test the guitar to see if its responding. Then if it is working, you should download joytokey off the internet and install it to your computer. don't worry its not going to give you viruses. then when its installed open it and you'll see that on the right side of the window are all the different keys that you can calibrate to a controller. your going to have to push every button on the guitar to find where they are located on the list to the right (when you push a button the location of the button in the program will highlight yellow) then open GH and open the controls in the settings. I took a pic of it so I didn't have to go back and forth from the game but anyway you want to find the buttons that the key board use for the green, red, yellow, blue, orange, up and down strum, start, select, whammy bar, and star power button. Go back to the program and start off by doing the green button on the guitar, push it and like i said it will highlight yellow on your computer. what you want to do is double click on the highlighted line and it will open a page where you can now get the button set up. Click on the first box that says disabled and put the keyboard key that works for green on the keyboard then push OK. close the pop up page and you should be back at the first page you started out at. now do the red button the same way and then yellow then blue and so on. When doing star power pull the guitar up like you would when using star power and it will highlight yellow on the screen, you can also use the select button on your guitar if you don't wanna use the pull up function while playing. toy around with it to get all the buttons set up the way you want to. I hope this helps! it is a bit confusing but once you do 1 or 2 buttons its easy. link for the adapter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0096PSFBG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ... show more

  • False advertisement
If I could give in zero stars I would. I bought this because it says that it is for a windows computer and when I got it says it can only be used for Mac and I got the new one it wasn’t supposed to be used but it was.

  • Brought back memories!
Bought it & started playing on my pc's keyboard. I use a usb keyboard & hold it like a guitar. Strumming with mouse, but for higher difficulties you may want to strum with arrow keys. I love so much about this game. The setlist (songs) and the art on the menus? *chef kiss* *** like this game? Check out Clone Hero! It's a great additional game with infinitely more songs. *** ... show more

  • Love this game, only wish I could buy all the versions on PC
Love this game. It's a shame that it is so hard to find a working guitar with dongle for PS3 version. I ended up having to buy the game on PC and see if the Xbox 360 guitars I brought from the pawn shop for $9.00 would work. Thankfully they did, but one of them the star button sticks and causes the green button not to work but when I figured out what the problem was it didn't stop me from being able to enjoy the game. To those who have problem with the game running on your PC or its because this game can have problems running on some HDTV's and monitors, some of which can be fixed in the settings. I only wish that all the guitar hero and rock band games were on PC. ... show more

  • yes but kind of no
i love this game. its awesome, of course. but there are two things that really get to me. one is that i could only download 32 bit version from cd. i have downloaded 64 bit for every game i have, so its not my computer. second is that every time i start up the game, ITS ON LEFTY FLIP. it is so friggin annoying. and when i change that, it doesnt save that way. ... show more

  • Great Game but.....
This is a great game for vista BUT, it has some glitches you have to turn the graphics all the way down in the settings or else it freezes and skips alot. It is compatible with the NVIDIA 8400 game card and above but has some problems with it. I also had to take out the crowd, that too was making it slow way down other than that I think those are minor flaws that need to be worked out with VISTA and NVIDIA but ROCK ON!!! ... show more
