This toy arrived just in time for a weekend getaway with our grandson. He had so much fun! The toy has so much to offer for busy fingers. The fishing...whereas your toddler has to get it just right on the very tip of the fish in order to pick the fish up. Our grandson figured that out and actually picked the fish up to make sure it attached to the magnet of the fishing pole. Learning that the pop ups were going to keep popping up, after banging them with the hammer, he employed the use of his hands..trying to push down 2 at a time. The many areas of touching and feeling and watching and making the parts turn, moving the arms, moving parts or banging on the xylophone to make musi etc. The toy kept his attention and he enjoyed playing with it for a very long time. Milestones will be reached with this toy. It's very well built, sturdy, durable, smooth, vibrant colors and a great attention span builder. I rate this toy/learning tool 5 stars, however, I'd prefer the ends of the fishing poles and hammer to be fatter and less sharp for our 1 yr old. It may be perfectly OK for an older toddler. I will wrap something colorful and soft around the sticks for our little one. This toy is a very reasonable price and will hold up and be enjoyed for years to come. Perfect to gift! ... show more

We have a lot of Montessori toys for our 20-month-old daughter, and they help her learn coordination as well as fine motor skills. Very durable with parts not easily swallowed. No worries about turning your back for a minute with these. Highly giftable.
