  • Great !!!
It went right in and bolted right up it works as it should but be sure the back of the truck is jacked up when replacing this and make sure the back of the trans is jacked up as well or the inside of the transmission will fall out all the clutches and everything not fun haha

  • Great price. Better than from GM
Have had it on a few weeks and so far so good. I did it with trans in truck. Recommend pulling trans if you want it on easy. Took me 5 shots to get it on so about 3 hours. Plates moved out everytime and had to realign them each time but make sure it goes on right. Also get the dang brace to Tcase, can't believe a U joint caused me this headache lol. ... show more

  • fix for leaking rear housing. for 4x4 chevy silverado 2500HD with 5 speed allison.
If your duramax has had a failed drive line or u joints and is leaking ATF like mine was. This is your fix. It is also the upgraded version. I believe it's only for the 4×4 allison 5 speed transmission. But could be wrong. If you are planning on changing it yourself you do not need to drop the transmission like all the shops say you HAVE TO. However the truck must be level or rear end slightly raised. Will need an allison spanner socket. Impact wrench. HD snap ring plyers. Bearing driver. 15mm. 13mm. Remove driveline and transfer case. Drain tranny. Remove spanner nut. Remove (15) 15mm and (2) 13mm bolts. Carefully remove housing. Remove snap ring. Drive bearing out. Inspect bearing. If ok. Lubricate and drive into new housing. Replace snap ring. Do NOT remove clutch pack or rear planetary gears. Clean mounting surface. Replace and align housing and gasket. Impact spanner nut till it quits spinning. About 108 ft/lbs. Torque 15mm bolts to 37 ft/lbs. Done. ( the return spring will cause a 1/2 inch gap. Don't be allarmed. Just tighten and compress the sping) Also I'd highly recommend the PPE stainless steel support bracket as well as the merchant automotive pump kit while doing this project. ... show more

  • Cracked extension housing?
Cracked my stock extension housing on my lb7. Got this to replace it. It actually looks beefier than the original that came with the truck. The webbing and entire case looks more structurally sound. I guess they improved the design? But fit with no issues.

  • Allison 4WD extension housing
Despite the confusing name, this is the 4x4 extension housing for the Allison 1000 automatic transmission found behind the Duramax Diesel and the 8.1L gas engines in the 2001 and newer 2500HD and 3500 GM pickups. It comes with the needle bearing, but not the 6209 (open) output bearing. This is the newer design that should be stronger, but I still purchased an aftermarket brace for the next time a u-joint fails. ... show more
