You can put anything you want on a plastic bucket. But on your extractor or other equipment, if it's metal, put a metal gate on it. This one is just fine, and what I should have had in the first place.

    • It's very light duty
Was going to use it with the bottling bucket. I can't keep the screw tight that the gate swivels on, then it leaks all over. I will take it to the local hardware store and see if I can get something that stays tight.

    • do not use for bottling jars
this gate has no control over the stream of honey and is only suitable in transferring honey from one bucket to another The honey pours out all over the place. Had to remove it and use a plastic gate.
