At first I was really impressed with the quality of the boards making up the pages of this book. That - and the really vibrant colours that deepen as the water soaks into the page. Nothing like the 'magic' water paint books we have tried previously. BUT, after just one use, my 3.5 year old son had coloured in a bit too hard with the supplied pen and it was only when the pages dried that we noticed that they were now covered with coloured scratches where the pen had damaged the surface of the pages. I just feel it's a little expensive for something that was so easily damaged by a child's first use. If it were more affordable, I would give it a higher rating. Perhaps better aimed at little girls who are a tad gentler when drawing! ... show more
