It basically a Veg-O-Matic from the 1960's with four exceptions. First, it takes a lot less space to store. Second, it DOES NOT slice (it only chops/cubes since both size blade inserts are grid patterns). Third, it has a storage bin to hold the chopped veggies and store the extra parts when put away. Fourth, it has "spiralizers" to make spiral slices and strips. It is easy to take apart and clean afterwards. And the blades are quite sharp. Time will tell if they hold their sharpness.     • Great timesaver, good looking diced pieces FAST!

This chopper was a lifesaver. I was making tabouli for 80 people, and had to dice 9 large English cucumbers, 36 roma tomatoes and two large onions for the salad. To do it by hand with only a knife would have taken ages, but this diced the veggies quickly with a minimum of effort into lovely little pieces, fast! I first cut the veggies into sizes that would fit on the 'plate'/grid of the chopper, then pressed hard, and like magic all my dicing was done. I have long wished for an easy way to do this with my cooking, especially for onions, and this did it easily, with no crying! So happy I bought this chopper, it will be my go to for all dishes now using veggies that need small pieces, especially for holidays and stuffing. You can dice 2 sizes which is also great. Have not tried the spiralizer attachments, but think they will go great for garnishes, etc. Only downside is it will not do RAW turnips, carrots or celery well. I think I will try to nuke those hard veggies in big sections, then when a bit softer than raw, dice and continue with my dishes for those ingredients.     • Worked really well but fell apart too soon

I bought this on the strength of the reviews. It really is a good piece of gear - when new. Chops everything from onions to herbs in one push as long as you keep the thickness reasonable. I found I had to hand wash the metal chopper "grids" and the plastic pusher plate. Stuff gets down in and doesn't come out in the dishwasher. That's not a complaint; just an observation. Unfortunately, my example was not durable, and I don't think I was too demanding at one or two uses per week. The "basin", the lid and the chopper blade inserts - yes. The hinges and clips that make the whole thing work - not at all. I don't know where the clip that keeps the blade assembly in place went - by the 2nd or 3rd use, it was gone. The spring/hinge assembly at the back is super weak. One side fell out after a month or so. and I had to keep putting it back in every use. The other side crapped out last night - the pieces snapping in half and the spring ricocheting across the kitchen to become an instant kitten toy (it's under the fridge now). Worked well while it lasted, but it didn't last very long. I won't replace it - as designed/manufactured, the same thing will happen again, ... show more
