I'm knocking off 1 star only because their size details are not clear. The medium says 29.5 - 37.4. Nothing stated for the small. I am 120 lbs, 5 ft 5 inch almost 30 inch waist so I went with the medium since everyone says it runs small. It works, but the velcro is very close to the far edge. I am guessing small would've been better, but it still works great. The second layer of straps cinch it up tight and the metal supports feel great. I was able to wear it under my clothes today, bulky and I walk slow with my pulled back, but at least I am up and moving. ... show more

provides excellent support over a wider area than my work brace. the stays and the four down to two back straps that come into the front strap provide a more consistent and evenly distributed support to my back than others i've used. it does stay in place well. holds up well (so far). very comfortable since you have the two adjustable straps that you can attach however you need. for what you get, the price is good. ... show more

A few days before Christmas I had a bout of sciatica. It was some of the worst pain I've ever experienced. In my case, sitting wasn't painful, but walking was excruciating, and some days I could barely move around. After several weeks of it not getting any better (I didn't go to a doctor for financial reasons), I decided to try this brace. The first day I put it on I began to feel instant relief. Today, one day short of a week after I got it, I am 99% pain free and only wearing the brace when I need to be on my feet for an extended period. I found it very comfortable (as much as any back brace is going to be). It's easy to put on and adjust. The support felt good - firm enough, but not suffocating. Of course you can easily adjust how tight it is with the secondary 'tensioning straps.' It is less wide in the front, which makes it much more comfortable. The velcro-like fasteners are very strong, so it holds very well. I've had other braces that the velcro barely holds, or pops loose entirely. Not an issue with this one. The big question everyone always has is, does it ride up? Here's my experience. If I needed to bend over very far, like to pick up something off the floor (my knees don't work either, lol) it would ride up a little bit. It was easy to readjust afterwards, just release the secondary tension straps, push it back down a little, and retighten the secondary straps. Quick and easy, no big deal. It would also ride up when I sat on my couch, which is very saggy. I just stopped wearing it when I sat on the couch, and would put it back on when I got up. It did not really ride up when I sat in a firmer chair, like my office desk chair. However, I am fairly overweight, very pear-shaped, and extremely short-waisted. I don't think there's a back brace on the planet that would not act as this one did with my body shape. If you are thinner, or have any waist to speak of, this may not even be an issue for you. Those minor issues were not anywhere near enough to cause me any grief when compared to the amount of relief I got from wearing this brace. Everyone's reason for needing a brace will be slightly different, and their body shape slightly different, so your mileage may vary, but it really saved me, and I have nothing but good things to say about it. ... show more

    • On Smaller Side. No Long Fits (Don’t Gain Weight)

Was on the smallish side. Thought it fit OK based on size and weight it would’ve returned it. Gained a few pounds between uses and it barely closed (too late to exchange for larger size). The Velcro touches each other at the ends but it “un-velcros” fairly easily when bending. If you have any doubt buy the larger size. Will likely need to use again to move furniture and other heavy items next year. Will definitely have to keep in good shape so it fits. Work on my core muscles first to slim the waist. Cardio, fat burning range, other muscle groups will have to take a back seat to core. Wise could exchange for larger size. Understand the return policy time limit. This was a one and done use, for a move. Don’t want money back. It’s a high quality product. Better than any other ones tried on. Even if could exchange for larger size don’t know how to do it. Wish there was easy way to contact company about it and see if they’d be open minded to it. I don’t blame Amazon. Sometimes it takes longer than the return window to know if a product “is a good fit” (literally here). So Amazon’s policy makes sense. But company might be open minded to a happier customer for their product. Would definitely give more stars if it was the right size and company was open minded about it. Got a M size ( I am about 32-33 waist) it fits snug but if you are 32 or lower might want to consider a size down for 29-30 might be small. Have a herniated lower back disk and recently pinched a nerve there. this belt gives a nice support and reasonably comfortable. still takes me allot of time and effort to get out of the bed after a night sleep but once I am up this thing is definitely makes things less painful. ... show more
