Had to clean out all the holes on both extension cords then my controllers worked with the extension cords. They must have something in the cord ends to keep them from corroding so make sure to clean each hole / pin out before using and they will work.

It's not hard to come to a conclusion many of the reviews here are off the mark a bit. Why would the set of cords be rated so highly if the actual insert plug molding doesn't even fit into a Nintendo? That's my experience. I wanted to mount our old NES behind the tv on the wall, so we wouldn't have to drag it out and set it up every time we wanted to play. (Yes, we're old and still addicted to Dr. Mario.) These were the perfect solution as they enabled me to mount the unit behind the tv and still have the cords reach to the couch without affecting play or connections. Literally a life saver since the chords that come with the 80’s Nintendo are so short, best part in my opinion is that you can hook more than one of these together, making the length pretty much endless! Kids and I are having a ridiculous amount of fun :)

    • Connectors do not make a snug connection
It would have been great if they would have made a 10 foot length. The serious flaw is the connectors do not fit snugly. They pull out very easily.

    • Not Great, but Useable
For their intended use, these weren't all that great. The end that plugs into the NES console fits loosely and many times doesn't make a good connection. I had to cut some flashing off the top of the pins too to get it to even make a good enough connection that the controllers would work. The end where the controller plugs into the cable is solid though. That said, I primarily bought these to make a pair of NES to Famicom adapters. To that end, they've worked well enough. The controller socket on these I am able to easily open up and solder directly to the pins. This allows me to directly wire a Famicom extension cable to the female end of this extension cord. Good overall, does the job. The terminal ends don’t plug into the game console very firmly. Could just be that it is an old console? Works well other than that.
