  • Not sure about it yet…update
When it sews we’ll, it sews well. It is very quirky. Sometimes it goes over multiple seams effortlessly, sometimes it just stalls and keeps sewing in the same spot. It will be sewing just fine and cutting the thread will throw the threading off so when you start to sew again it messes up and you have to retread it. I had the same bobbin issue as another reviewer and found the bobbin was in upside down. If the bobbin is overwound you will have problems. So, for the most part, it all boils down to user errors (except for the stalling at multiple seams part). Once I get used to it and we learn each other’s quirks, it will probably be ok. The 1/4” foot (at least the one I received) is larger than a 1/4”. I’m using the clear embroidery foot, lining up with the little tab and it gives a scant 1/4”. I truly miss my Viking but being frugal I didn’t think i’d get my money’s worth from an expensive machine (I’m 77 and no one else sews/quilts ). All in all it was a very good price (under $300) and I will get used to it. UPDATE discovered that auto thread cutter does not work well if the needle is in the down position. Had trouble with generic feet, some will fit some won’t. I got the curve master foot to work by taking the little foot shank off and attaching it then putting the piece back on. There is a little spring like piece that will not automatically connect generic feet. On some feet I could “pull” the lever that is usu.ally used to release the foot and it let me use the generic foot. Many of the feet I have cannot be used, specifically the 1/4” foot with side guide because the part of the foot shank that grabs the foot is too wide. I also have a 1/4” foot with a wide hole (like a zig zag foot) and it will not work. Right now I am using the clear zig zag foot with the needle moved to the plus 7 setting to get a scant 1/4” and using the right edge of the foot as my guide. The more I use and learn the machine the more I like it. It’s just a matter of an old dog learning a new trick! ... show more

  • Perfect for an extra machine
I’ve used my Sparrow for simple straight line quilting to put the quilt together. It does a fine job. It isn’t the work horse that my other machine is, but compared to what I paid for this one I wouldn’t expect that. I haven’t put prices together yet, which is difficult when it doesn’t come with a quarter inch foot for quilting. It comes with a walking foot, but no quarter inch. It is very lightweight if you would like to either travel with or take to quilt classes. ... show more

  • I like this more than the Singer 9960
This is a very friendly, mostly easy to use machine! I had a Singer Quantum 9960 that I loved, but quit working. I got this as replacement as it was more affordable. Things I love: Bobbin rarely jams and doesn't need to be cleaned out every 5 passes like the 9960 Pulls fabric straight The main press foot is clear and split so it's easy to see where the needle will hit Easy to thread The extension table is amazing Ultimately it was pretty easy to learn and for the cost of a computerized machine, this is a great buy Things I'm not crazy about: The 9960 interface to change stitches was much easier - the eversewn has a bit of a learning curve in this regard Is louder when sewing, but that doesn't bother me The automatic threader worked for a while, but now just catches and tears up thread - I've tried moving needle position to assist this, but doesn't seem to matter The thread cutter was great for a while, but now only cuts the bobbin and not the top thread - that said I've had this issue with other machines, so I don't think it's unique to the eversewn ... show more

  • Love it
I love this little machine. Easy to use. Be sure you thread the bobbin properly it is tricky. But every thing else was a breeze to figure out. It makes beautiful stitches and will sew beautifully through many layers.

  • GReat sewing machine
I got this sewing machine because I was constantly fixing my brother. I love the machine. Although the needle threader is not the greatest. I have had no troubles. I was a little worried because I read that it had trouble with heavier materials but I have had no troubles with this either. Although this isn't a name brand I was familiar with I am very pleased because it was a great price with many features that I was looking for in a machine. I waited a while to put a review in to make sure I was happy with this machine before writing a review. I actually would buy another Eversewn again and hopefully will be buying one for my grandchild soon! ... show more

  • Wonderful Machine!
This machine is an excellent value. The alphabet works well and I haven't had a single bobbin issue. As far as I can tell you have to overwind or put the bobbin in wrong to cause an issue. The needle needs to be in the highest position for the threader to work, and oddly the up/down button does not place it there. You have to move the wheel a bit more to get it there, but it does work. Eversewn's customer service is top notch. Call them instead of whatever seller and they will fix any issues. ... show more

  • Pretty nice machine for the price.
Thus far only one "minor" flaw...the automatic scissors don't always work...still figuring that out. The machine runs quietly and smoothly. I'm loving it, though I have not tried all the "frills", I'm too busy working on a quilt.
