  • This is a all in one machine!
I've had time to use our new air fryer and learn more about it as a first time users of these it was a learning process in the beginning. That being said it was really easy to use. I didn't find the instructions honestly to be complete. I never found how to (preheat). I actually had to find that info through other methods. Hopefully I'm doing it correctly but either way it works. If you want to preheat something you must put it on grill, roast, bake or something that gives you the "PH" symbol in the digital read out area that displays the temperature and time. Run it for a few minutes then switch it to the desired preset selection such as "Air fry". The video that shows the smoke seeping from the top outer corners of the doors is absolutely correct. I don't see that as being something wrong with it so far so good. Once you start cooking it will alarm half way through the desired set time. This is to alert you in the event you wish to flip what your cooking over. It will alarm again several beeps at the end of the desired cook time. You should wait until it displays "Off" in the digital area where you find the time to cook and temp. The reason for this is that it vents all of the hot air out of the oven. That takes approx 1 or 2 minutes. Once it displays "Off" you can open the doors and you'll notice you aren't filling your kitchen with undesired heat. Then you can remove your freshly cooked meal. I found it easy to clean however I will say cleaning the heating elements is not desirable to me. Please make sure you read the cleaning instructions fully before doing so they are delicate. Don't use anything overly abrasive on them and only use soap and water nothing potentially flammable and never when hot. The rest of the oven is easy to clean, they are as well just be careful with them. It comes with everything shown so you have all you need for cooking. Those are easy to clean as well. I cooked a couple of times before cleaning the drip pan and it was a bit harder to clean due to cooked on grease that expelled from the cooked items. Now I clean the drip pan every time. I absolutely give this five stars it hits all the marks for me. It's easy to use, easy to clean, it fits perfectly anywhere on my counter I want to place it. It's small but mighty! You can really cook a lot and a couple of things at the same time if so desired. The doors are really nice how you just hand open one the other opens at the same time. I hardly ever use my oven anymore because I really do like how this cooks my meals from Steak to meatloaf, hamburgers, veggies, potatoes. I like not having to use cooking oil or grease in it. For some things I use the oil only for basic prep before then it's strained, seasoned and or breaded and put in the basket to cook. If you purchase this I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and I do recommend it! ... show more

  • Way superior upgrade to Instant Vortex
The media could not be loaded. My Instant Vortex died just short of 4 years. I opened it up and reset the thermal "fuse". It worked but only for about a minute, giving me the E1 error code. Time for an upgrade. The non-stick trays are also in a sorry state. This upgrade is worth it if only for the exterior stainless steel and the cute French door. Air fryers that open the door down always bugged me. Why can't they have a door like the microwave? Everything drips on the door hinge and the door. I had to get another tray to put on top of the opened door as another drip tray. But when I detached the door of the Instant Vortex, there wasn't much grease dirt accumulated there. The door isn't just cute but fully functional. You can open it with one hand, doesn't matter if you are left or right-handed. You need a little bit of clearance on the sides for it to stay open because it's spring-operated. The interface and buttons are superior. There are only 6 buttons including start and cancel. Others control what the dial is used for, setting time, temperature, cooking mode, etc. The buttons are quality sensor buttons with no moving parts. The rubbery membrane buttons are always the first thing to go in any appliance. The little display manages to tell you if you have a preheat mode and where to put your trays. The basket and rack are quality stainless steel. A short time will tell if they are not. The trays look like aluminum which most baking trays are made of. The grill plate is solid steel with ceramic coating. Many will not buy telfon like non-stick utensils. Many will not buy stainless steel utensils. I'm going for all stainless steel in the kitchen. They are easily cleaned by boiling in water with some washing soda. It's effortless to maintain even a mirror finish. Even the tray handle makes a lot of sense. You don't have one for the Instant Vortex. The rotating mechanism is also all metal. My only hesitation is that it doesn't have a rotating basket. My last use of the Instant Vortes was to roast peanuts, overheating in the process. Since this fryer is much bigger, you can spread the same amount of peanut on the flat basket in one layer. An air fryer is supposed to fry evenly. The Instant Vortex basket can be modified to fit the new host. Unscrew the black supporting blocks for the old rotisserie bars. All you need is a thick drill bit to grind off the rivet holding the old rotisserie bars, take them off, and enlarge the resulting hole a little. Screw the supporting blocks back. The new rotisserie can be put through the holed at the two ends. ... show more

  • Infomercial
I couldn't sleep, watched Emeril's late night infomercial about it. I bought it. It looked a bit intimidating. When I put fries in there & the beeper went off, I said,"No it can't be done already." But, Voila! Not only done, but the PERFECT crispiness. I was sold. Chicken breasts 5 minutes each side. DONE. Let it settle about 8 minutes & the juice just runs out when you cut it. BEST thing about it for me are two things. 1) The grill literally wipes off with a napkin & 2) I've never been able to make a juicy meat of any kind. Steak, chicken, pork, fish etc. But using this after 40 years, my chicken & steak will never be dry again.ma Finally the juiciest meat ever. I haven't turned my oven on in months. I'm a widowed senior so I do small meals. Now they have the same except it has 2 separate compartments to make more foods at the same time! But I saw it's not where you can't remove the middle separater ... show more
