I like a lot of things about this set in particular, the midi functionality is a huge plus. The colors are subdued so older kids and adults won't feel too silly learning on it. I really recommend this set for learning, as it's much cheaper than a starter drum kit, and a lot less noisy.

You get what you pay for. This electronic drum kit boasts numerous convenient features, such as portability, configurable volume, MIDI functionality, and several sets of stock samples. This kit comes with two foot pedals, which work with the bass and hi-hat samples. The hat actually does play as if closed when the pedal is held down. However, a thrifty musician will be disappointed to learn there is no velocity recording functionality, which heavily limits the usefulness of this product. Playing ghost notes is not possible. Often the samples play multiple times upon a single hit, especially when attempting quick rhythms. If you’re after a cheap but useful MIDI controller, this probably isn’t it. The extremely light sticks it comes with don’t rebound at all, but that’s to be expected. That said, it is a fantastic tool for introducing a young child to music without the (literal) headache of a real kit or expensive electronic kit! ... show more

This drum pad is so fun. All of my kids from my 2 year old to my 9 year old love it. It has everything a normal drum set has, including the symbols and the pedals. Very easy to use, and you can either plug it in or put batteries in which is awesome!

The drum pads are awesome to practice with. Easy portability. Unfortunately, the foot peddles are not very responsive. Its still a great product overall for the price!

These are so much fun. Easy set up and very easy to play. I wish it came with a carrying bag. It's a great addition to our classroom for music.
