Top Amazon Reviews

  • EASY TO ASSEMBLE - HARD TO START - OVERALL LIKE IT
Color: bronze
While many reviews said it was hard to assemble, I found it VERY easy. I did watch the videos on Amazon’s website, but overall the instructions were easy to follow if you lay out the pieces. NOTE: the parts list IS CORRECT in number of nuts and bolts BUT the very first assembly instructions says …”FOUR M5x8 bolts (GG) and FOUR M5 nuts (II).” But then the photo shows ONE of each. There is ONLY 1 of each included in the parts bag AND only ONE needed to assemble. The written instructions are wrong in number for these two pieces. The HARD part is getting it to start with a new tank, especially if you try and light it in daytime because you can’t really see the pilot light work and a NEW tank seems to take forever to bleed into the line. Once it lit, it burned nicely and threw some heat. I don’t know if the actual spread of heat will be what it claims as about 3 ft around. That will be determined with use and on colder day than when I lit it. I did notice that on the first lighting it literally burns the emitter to a darker color. The flame seemed appropriate. I didn’t realize the heater won’t work as well when temps fall below 40 degrees, so that is not what I was expecting when I want to use this on chilly camping days, but this will be determined better on further use. Overall, I like it and hope it takes the chill off tabletop sitting by the campsite. I really like the magnetic cover plate to open and put in a propane tank. That stops you from having to turn over the heater and put it in from the bottom, which other models I looked at did. Hopefully it meets my camping needs. Watch the top reflector. It definitely gets hot, but the pole and base seem to stay cool to touch. ... show more

  • Works fine for me
Color: black
Looks nice, lights easily, and very portable. Easy enough to assemble just took a little patience.

  • Looks nice - little heat
Color: bronze
Looks nice but little heat. Guess I expected to feel some warmth from 11000 BTU. I figured I was doing something wrong. Assembly is not hard. Not hard to light, but if you aren’t within 1 foot of it, it’s useless. Everyone around a patio sized table should be able to feel the heat. I used 3 different 1 lb propane tanks and one 20 lb - no difference. I’m sad because I wanted one of these for a long time. My wife hates the smell of smoke in our fire pit. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this product. 1 star ... show more

  • Poorly constructed. Terrible instructions
Color: bronze
This item was very poorly constructed the screw holes for the housing don't lineup with the burner unless you don't want to be able to actually put fuel canisters in you have to drill new holes and put new screws then I had to fix the ignitor so it actually light. Gives off very poor heat not very effective at all ... show more

  • Do NOT accept a box taped up! It’s used!!

Other than it was clearly a return, open box, missing bolts and nuts and the top shield …. Clearly fantastic. NOT

  • Ended up averaging at 4 stars
Color: bronze
Where to start... Missing the nuts that go to the bolts. There was supposed to be 9 included and there was one 1. We used some of our own that we had already. The heads of the bolts were not cut right, so the include wrench didn't work since the head was rounded off vs hexagon (or however many sides it is supposed to have). We were able to use the bolts still but had to use additional tools. The bolts also were a bit short when screwing on the nut, you could only make like 2 rotations because they were not long enough. The latch to lock the door where the propane goes was also missing. The knob and door were included but no way to lock it closed. The deflector on the top was bent on delivery but not significantly. When you insert your 1lb propane tank, you are suppose to have it parallel to the ground while screwing it to the connector, and then the connection has a hinge that can allow the tank to swing into the housing. This connector wouldn't allow our propane tank to swing in if you screw it in on the angle. The connector isn't centered so that's why it wouldn't swing in. We ended up putting the tank inside the house and holding it up while screwing it to the connector which was tricky given the tight space. We used the Coleman brand 1lb propane tanks. There may be other brands of tanks that are smaller diameter and just taller that would allow you to install as directed but we did not try. And finally, trying to light it was a huge headache. We followed the directions dozens of times and it would not light. We tried two different propane tanks (both were brand new purchased a week ago) and same result with both. We used a long neck lighter to try to start it with the propane on and it didn't want to start. Probably after the 10th time of trying to use the lighter to get the pilot lit, it finally lit. Once lit, it stayed on and it generated heat. This isn't life changing heat, but you can notice it from a few feet away. Placing it on the ground vs a table top will only heat about 3' off the ground. We did both but definitely works better raised up. We had it lit for a good 30 min without issue. But then after 10 min or so of it being off, we tried to restart it using the directions and it would not restart. Overall I rate it as a 4 star because it did work eventually and it is attractive looking and looks more high end that I expected from the pictures. The weighted base is sufficient during use on a table top, but I would store it somewhere more secure like on the ground or in a shed (with the propane removed!). ... show more
