This is a great option if you need a hole in the wall for an inspection hole or just to cover a hole and you don't want to deal with a sheetrock repair. I have installed many of these as a contractor and they have always taken paint well and look good once installed and painted. Everyone should have one of these easy-to-install tall access panels. The washing machine faucet was leaking, and my new washer and dryer were arriving the next day. Turned out to be a more complicated repair than anticipated, and the (newly painted) sheetrock had to be cut, from the faucet box, almost to the floor. Once the leak was repaired, now knowing there is always a chance that a leak will develop, it made no sense to me to repair the sheetrock. I decided every home should have an access panel for washer pipes. I found this one, ordered, and prayed it would arrive before the new washer and dryer. It arrived 40 minutes before the w/d, and in that 40 minutes, I was able to cut the sheetrock to enlarge the opening and fit the panel, pushed it into the opening, giving it a few taps with a rubber mallet, and slapped a coat of paint on it. I am a woman who will be 73 next month, so if I could do this, anyone can do it. I still have a bit of work to do, fitting a baseboard, etc, but the panel was exactly what I needed. Everyone should buy one and install it now, so when your plumbing starts leaking, it will be easy to find and repair the leak, and you avoid the trauma of cutting a hole in the wall. ... show more

This is a nice clean product and can be installed with the door opening to the left or right. The problem with the installation is that the frame is slightly more than a half inch deep which makes it sit away from the wall if you have a stud behind the dry wall. Well i forgot to leave opening Access in the house for out door faucet shutoff. Debated how i would fix this. I knew general location and figured all issues to access. Then i found this product!
