I bought this iron for only one reason. To press open seams in my quilting pieces. It works GREAT for this. I wouldn't recommend it for anything big, but for small quilting or sewing pieces, it is a terrific product. I bought the sleeve ironing board to go with it. I can set them up on a small table right next to my sewing area and press open seams without getting up to go to my big iron. The handle is easy to hold and protects hands and fingers from being burned by the small hot part of the iron. The iron head can be adjusted to different angles to aid in pressing. Four heat settings allow for a variety of fabrics to be pressed. It also has a little wire stand, attached, that can be flipped up while pressing or down to rest on the ironing surface. I have a Htv iron press, regular iron and a 10 x 12 vinyl iron. This little iron is one of the most handy invention since the microwave. I have been making hats and I can iron all the vinyl on without pulling the Big Equipment out. And yes it does get plenty hot. Don't let the size fool ya !! If anyone gives this less than a 5 star review its because they are too stupid to know which end to plug in. And yes you know those people are out there.
