Purchased this reel a year ago and that is about as long as it lasted. It is a very good reel, but I would say it is not for saltwater. I take good care of my equipment including desalting, rinsing, and oiling between uses. This outing, the reel became difficult to reel in and then final froze in the middle of a Cobia fight. Had to pull the line by hand to get the fish to the boat. If I had neglected the reel, not cleaning and maintenance the reel, then it would be on me. But that is not the case. The drag nut stripped and was no longer able to reel the line in. Update: Customer service was fantastic. They got in contact with me and shipped me the parts that were needed to fix the reel. Also the parts arrived very quickly. I will definitely order more products from them again based on the outstanding customer service. ... show more

Very smooth and drag gets tight fast I had some issues with the anti reverse switch when fighting a giant stingray for 2 hours it was slipping everyone and a while I reached out to customer support and they are sending me a brand new one on the house great people over there definitely recommend this product ... show more

Drag nut stripped after first use and is no longer tightening. I reached out to DR Fish their customer service was great. They sent me a new reel casing with th drag cap.. I'm good to go now 👍🏽
