  • Great Hair Coloring!
Color: Light Brown
My sister discovered this brand of hair coloring during COVID and uses it on her graying head of red hair. I didn't realize that she had been coloring her hair for the last three years until she told me about this product. I purchased the same brand with my hair color (light brown), and the use of this product has resulted in a notable but subtle change in my hair color from primarily gray with some light brown to more light brown with some gray. I use about a quarter-sized blob of the product twice a week after I have washed my hair. This product not only softens and moisturizes my hair, it also colors it in a very subtle way. I highly recommend the product. Note: Some people may balk at the price of the product, but it is well worth it. I get my hair cut by a stylist every eight weeks for $50/cut. I have had her color my hair in the past for $120/color and cut. I paid $38/bottle for this hair coloring product that will last me at least a year. The product is worth it to me! I am very satisfied. ... show more

  • Love this color depositing gloss! Works on silver
Color: Cool Medium Brown
I am trying to grow out my natural color. Have gotten blonde highlights for years and my length has gotten too warm in tone. My roots are dark brown and silver, lots of silver in front and sides. I bought the darker blonde and the cool medium brown gloss. I have done a few applications over the last few weeks. Medium cool brown on my roots and part. Dark blonde on my temples. I leave it on for an hour. I have gotten some color, definitely helps blend my gray. Also put it on my highlights to darken them somewhat. I like it. I also got some olaplex purple shampoo to tone my length. ... show more

  • Works at keeping red/blonde hair vibrant between professional color appts
Color: Strawberry
I get balayage, over which my stylist adds a copper semi-perm gloss every 8 weeks or so for diimensional redlights . Between professional coloring visits, this color is challenging to maintain, inevitably reds start to oxidize and fade within a few shampoos, so gloss color doesn't last as described for 24 shampoos, I'd say it's more like 8 washes and I use quality Redken color safe products.. So between appts I apply a couple of ounces of this product to my clean, dry, brushed hair, using gloves, separating into sections, then coating it thickly over the ends working up to about mid-shaft, where my hair is dryest/most damaged by heat, sun, styling, bleach, etc. I leave it on for 10-15 minutes (or while I brush my teeth) then I shampoo, condition and style the hair with my usual products. This product revives my redlights really well. If I've got the time I'll use a blend of the darker copper shade and strawberry and randomly coat sections of hair. One or the other shade picks up differently on the same hair section, so when I dont' have a lot of time I still get beautiful, dimensional results. It makes my hair shiny and feels thicker, though I can't recommend it as a daily color depositing conditioner (I don'tever use it that way) and I really dislike the smell. It's also ridiculously expensive, but what isn't??? ... show more

  • Added copper tint to dark brown hair; dyed scalp orange; washed out in one week
Color: Copper
Wanted to try a penny-like copper on my completely virgin medium/dark brown hair. I figured a gloss like this in Copper would be a good temporary way to test out whether or not I liked the color, but didn’t have high expectations starting with quite a dark base color. I did a strand test first using hair from my brush and it seemed to give it just a tint of copper, so I took the plunge on my whole head. I used a clarifying shampoo in the shower, then applied this with gloves on very damp hair and clipped it up for the rest of my shower, about 15 mins, then rinsed out. I have fine, thin hair about 4” past my shoulders and used about 1/5 of the bottle for this. I was pretty surprised by how long it took to rinse out - pink/coral water just kept coming and coming with no end…I felt like I was rinsing all the color out! Finally I decided I couldn’t rinse any longer...And got out of the shower to see my scalp dyed bright Halloween orange! So it was back in the shower and did some more scrubbing and rinsing to try to remove the scalp stains (which helped a little but my scalp was very much still bright orange for multiple days afterwards - thank goodness I did it on a weekend where I didn't have to be anywhere). Once dry, I could see my roots tinged ever so subtly red-copper but there was absolutely nothing on my lengths or ends. I figured maybe my base color is just too dark for this color, but decided to try one more time. The second time, I decided to apply it to dry hair to see if that would help it take more color. I applied it dry (used much more product this time, about 1/3 bottle) and let it sit for about 30+ mins before rinsing it out in the shower (no shampoo). Same rinsing scenario - I must have been under the water for 10+ minutes doing nothing but rinsing and rinsing, and coral pink was still pouring from my hair until I eventually gave up. So don’t expect this to rinse clear! You can see the results from my photos - you can definitely notice a red/copper tint to it, which was more obvious in person and in direct sunlight! I imagine if you’re starting with a lighter base color, you’d definitely see more result. No real noticeable results in terms of glossiness, softness, nor shine, but my hair is fairly healthy to begin with. Besides my scalp being orange for days, another big con was the fragrance: I’m used to using all fragrance-free products so the smell of this was incredibly perfumey to me. The nights after using it, I kept waking up feeling like I and my pillow were just engulfed in this strong perfumey fragrance. Would have been much nicer if it had no added fragrance and that alone makes me hesitant to use it again. It washed out to the point where it wasn’t noticeable anymore after only about 3-4 washes. I wash my hair every other day so for me this meant it lasted only about one week. And I had to use a towel and pillowcase I didn’t mind getting stained the whole time since so much color poured out every shower and it was staining my white towel (luckily this came out in the wash). Overall: since my base color is already quite dark and it only lasted about 1 week on me, I can’t say it would be worth using this again. The scalp staining and the fragrance make it even less worth it. But it definitely worked for a subtle tint. Apply it dry for the most color deposit. And if you’re starting with a lighter base color, I imagine the results could be pretty dramatic. ... show more

  • Colored my white hair
Color: Medium Blonde
I let my hair go 100% white a couple of years ago, but decided I'm tired of looking old. I've used dphue gloss before, so I tried it again. The "Dark blond" times down the bright white without getting to dark. Some areas are lighter than others, based on how white my hair was in those areas, mainly around my face. I left it on for 10 minutes, and plan to apply again next time I wash my hair, but only for the time it takes to finish my shower. (In the past, the color lasted for a few shampoos.) ... show more

  • Just the solution I wanted
Color: Light Brown
Recently let my hair go natural hoping for a nice salt and pepper look. The gray was overwhelming. Using this product gives a little color and for the most part makes my hair look highlighted. I only leave it on 3 minutes because I am not looking for full coverage. I love this and will be a regular customer. ... show more
