We got this collar back in December for our high energy dog (Aussie/retriever mix) who was almost a year old! He was jumping on our toddler and despite our best efforts we couldn’t stop him in time from knocking our toddler over! We were recommended this collar by a friend and are satisfied with it. It has options for shock, vibration, and sound to help deter our pup from the unwanted behavior! We decided not to use the shock and only use the vibration on 7 and noise, it seems to have really helped. After a few months of use I can say this is the only way we got him to stop jumping on people, now he knows to not jump even without the collar! It’s easy to use, the charge in both remote and collar last pretty long and the quality is satisfactory! I would say I could not use this on my older dog who is long haired, I think he has too much hair for it to be properly affective! Highly recommend! ... show more

This collar is fully adjustable to a wide range of sizes. The range of the remote is great, the remote is easy to use, and the collar is as low-profile as you can get. The prongs on the collar don't leave any calluses on my dogs neck, and do not irritate his skin. The collar holds up well to a very active dog, and that's saying a lot. The tone or vibrate functions work great as a reminder when he starts to do something he shouldn't, or isn't obeying a command. The shock is great when you really need to discourage certain behaviours. It has several levels so you can cater the shock to the size of dog you have, and their threshold for listening vs. disobeying. The collar and remote both hold a charge for a long time if not being used heavily. I think I charge every 2-3 weeks most of the time. Most of the time when my dog starts to disobey, the tone feature works just fine to get him back on track. This is my second dog shock collar. This time, since they were so cheap, I ordered 2 so I would have a spare in case anything happened to this one. My last one, which was a different brand but the same basic design and features, broke when I used it to restrain my dog when he was trying desperately to get away to get at another dog when I didn't have my remote with me. My fault, I should have had a real collar on him, not just the shock collar. Still, it held long enough to allow the other dog to figure out he needed to get off our property. If you’re just using this to gain power over your dog, don’t buy this. This isn’t for you. We have a 2 year old purebred German Shepard. He’s a great family dog, great with children, loving and loyal. He listens inside on every command and with ease. “Crate, sit, roll over, go lay down, come, stay, no, drop it.” But outside, he’s your WORST nightmare. We ONLY use shock collars as reinforcement outside of the house. We like this collar because it has all the same features as the last collar we had. We warn with a beep, then it vibrates as another warning, (at this point he knows to stop), then if he doesn’t the shock. The remote is rather large so it’s not easily mistakable for a TV remote. It has several different highs/lows for the ring, vibrate, and shock setting. The vibrate doesn’t hurt, but rather a distraction at first to get him to look away from his target. The remote also has a safety lock which I really like to prevent accidental rings or vibrate. What I like most, is in order to use the shock button, you have to press one button first, THEN the shock button. So yet another safety feature to prevent accidental shocks. I will say the shock on level 6 is very intimidating (tried it on myself). I did not try a higher level because I would never use anything higher on my dog. Also, it hurts. I recommend trying it first because if you don’t, please don’t use it on the dog. We have only used the shock twice this year because of him trying to attack another dog. This collar sits flesh against the neck and has a nice sleek look. This will fit a medium dog, to an extra large dog I would say. And yes, before you think or say it. He has seen a professional trainer. It did help, but does not prevent the urge of him going straight crazy outside the house. We love our dog so much, so as responsible pet owners we are using the collar as reinforcement to keep him safe, and to keep others around him safe. He’s a good boy, just a lil crazy. I would rate this collar 10/10 for price and all the features it has. Don’t waste your money on expensive collars. ... show more

I’ve used a few collars over the years and I really like this one over all the others I have used before. I really like the controller design, it’s large enough to easily grab and hold onto it and be able to reach and identify all of the buttons easily. I really like the fact that the controller has a lock-out button on it so I can put it in my pocket when I’m not using it and don’t have to worry about accidentally shocking my dog. I also like the fact that it has an auto shut off for the display to save power. However, when you push the button to perform an action it immediately kicks on without a lag from “waking up”. This is really important because I’ve had a collar that had the auto shut off before but there was like a 30 second lag to wake it back up and have it perform the necessary function. That could be the difference between life or death for your dog if you are trying to use the shock function to stop them from running in the road. So this thing has all around good performance and range and it also is very user friendly and has great battery life.
