Makes the perfect 'small' waffle bowls. Easy to use, I just wish the lid would lock in place when lifted. It fell down almost every time I lifted it...but the bowls came out perfectly. I did experiment with the amount of batter and cooking times. 3 tablespoons of batter was way, way too much. It overflowed and created a mess. I reduced it to 2 level tablespoons and that amount worked perfectly. The timing was a little tricker, but for me 5:45 seconds was the exact color and crispness I wanted. I made the 'classic waffle' batter from the booklet that was enclosed. I reduced the sugar because it was way too much for me. This batter produced 24 'bowls'. Works great, easy to use and clean! You can obviously use batter, but I am super lazy and wanted something less messy. I used a small flour tortilla and cut one line halfway across the tortilla so that I could curve it into a slight cone. Pinch the edge and stick it in the bowl maker and let it toast! Works great with low carb tortillas. Fast crispy bread bowl: cut the crusts off a slice of bread, gently smush the slice into the bowl cavity, try not to tear any holes in it, but if you do you can use another slice to patch it. I used some carbmaster bread and they came out toasty and held together well. Let it toast, then pull it out and fill with whatever. Blueberries and cream, scrambled eggs and cheese, sausage crumbles and marinara, etc! ... show more

This product is pretty good. I got it for my parents for Christmas and they like it. It holds it's shape well and everything, the only problem is that the waffles aren't crispy. Like they're cooked but they feel almost like those microwave mini pancakes. It's still tastes great of course! Maybe I did something wrong on my end with the batter I used but who knows. But to conclude it's a cool gift that can make some useful waffles but they might be more like formed pancakes if you have a similar experience to me. ... show more

Little machine comes with recipe book and cooker. The bowls it makes are a bit smaller than I had anticipated, a bit smaller than ones you might buy at the store. I've used a commercial waffle mix once with it and two recipes from the book including the snickerdoodle bowl recipe. The recipes from the book produce a softer shell bowl. The commercial (Carnival King) brand purchased from Amazon was a crispy bowl. The softer ones were like a chewy cookie. I haven't tried any savory ones yet but this would work well for those. There are two downsides. First, the heating is a bit uneven. Second, it does need to be sprayed lightly with cooking spray to get the bowls out. The softer bowls would tear when trying to get them out with tongs. For the price and if you are just using it a few times a month, this works. However, if you are going to do them more often, I would consider upgrading to a more commercial type. Note: The gelato in the picture is a recipe from Creami 101 (author Arianna Bennett) for the Ninja Creami machine both of which I got on Amazon. The gelato was delicious so I highly recommend those Amazon purchases as well. ... show more

I have a regular Dash mini waffle maker, too, for 2+ years and love it. I have been eyeing on this cup kind for awhile and just received it. I have been wanting to make mini quiches with potato crust. Also wanted to make a bunch and freeze some for later. For the first try, I just used what I had in the kitchen (due for grocery shopping. LOL). I grated a potato, mixed in flour and an egg, S&P. It came out great. One click of the machine wasn't quite long enough for potatoes, but if I am baking with quiche filling later, it should be good enough. (If you want to add something on top and eat it out of the waffle maker, I would suggest you cook for 2 clicks). I am also planning on trying out using rice and add pork ginger.
