My dogs sometimes fit a large and sometimes an XL. So I usually just get an XL and adjust them. These are not adjustable and they're too big for my dogs. HOWEVER, I love them. I have 4 house hippos and one senior lab. My youngest dog chews everyone's collars off. He will not be able to chew through these. I used the velcro to make them a little tighter, which isn't what it was designed for and it won't last because they'll loosen it right back up. But I don't mind them being too big as long as they stay on the dogs. I don't use these collars for walks but they would be just fine with a leash on them even if your dog pulls. These are the thickest most durable collars I've found. I love the patches and the velcro to add more. The handles are awesome. The clasp is actual metal so it will last for years I'm sure. We bought two of these dog collars for our 12 and 13 week old GSD puppies. We were looking for a long lasting collar that has a large range of adjustment for our fast growing family members. After some research, we bought one of these and found that the inner velcro liner makes for a large range of adjustment that is also secure and easy to adjust. The lead attachment ring and the buckle both appear to be very durable and built to last. After a few days we were so impressed we bought a second collar. Sizing was on point, we got the xl and he there's some room to grow which is great cause he's only 9 months, love the clasp, seems really durable, time will tell. Not a fan of the patch areas, I didn't plan on using the patches and didn't even think of what it would look like without the patches. Overall happy, seems like a really nice collar and love the handle. We are working on his dog reactivity while on the leash, so this will help to hold him close while we are training. Although I didn't plan on using the patches, the "mama says I'm special" really is fitting for him .. lol ... show more

I have a German Shepherd and he plays very rough with a fellow GSD and pitbull and this collar has held up AMAZING. The handle is great and helpful. Love the thickness of the collar and the sturdy metal buckle.

This has been a great upgrade from our last collar. I really like the construction and build quality. I like that it has an easy-to-grab-and-hold handle for quick restraint. I like the velcro for tags. I would highly recommend it.

I love this collar it’s very cute! I need the handle on my Akitas collar because she loves to take off as soon as I open the door and we don’t have a fence. It’s easy to grab her in the event of her getting lose & comfortable for her to wear. The only annoying thing is it takes me a few minutes to get it off because the buckle will get stuck. I have to clasp & unclasp it repeatedly and wiggle it until it comes loose finally. The hardware does easily get scratched when putting on tags and natural wear & tear. I recommend taking it off for baths and swimming as it’s absorbent! Overall I love it, but I might go with something else for her next collar. ... show more

After me not paying attention on how to adjust. Then went back and read on it after being frustrated. Very simple..lol Love the fact it has a handel on collar for quick control. Very sturdy. I have german shepherd who is a brick house.
