  • It works just fine.
Style: Planer
It is a good planer for the money. It is not super accurate but does small projects, easy to set up and use.

  • Simple to set up and use
Style: Planer
I’m relatively new to woodworking but try to adhere to the saying work smarter not harder!” I like to recycle pallet wood but so much of it is rough cut and hard to plane with an electric hand planer. Didn’t really want to spend the money for a table top thickness planer for use on mostly pallet wood but I’m sure glad I did. This planer does a great job and I am able to plane numerous boards in no time! I ran the planer almost non stop for 2 hours with no issues. I did have to adjust intake and out feed tables prior to use and applied a coat of paste wax to all surfaces. I chose to use my planer outside as it produces a lot of shavings and dust. The thickness adjustment handle is a bit flimsy, I noticed some snipe but all in all this planer, so far, works well. ... show more

  • Basic efficiency
Style: Planer
This Craftsman planer (CMEW320) is exactly what I needed to bring wooded faded by time back to life. It is easy to use. I can move it myself with a careful power lift. The depth adjustment is accurate. Basically, it does exactly what I purchased it for. I use it on dry 2 X Douglas Fir stock, old fence boards... dry and seasoned wood. I let the machine plane at it own pace. No pushing. Works Great. ... show more

  • Great value, well made.
Style: Planer
Built a screened in porch for my wife and needed to plane the trim I made on the sawmill. After borrowing a friend's much heavier planer and wrestling with it for hours I decided to buy one of my own. I have always found Craftsman hand tools to be quality products so after reviewing I decided to go with this one. I have to say so far I am very pleased. The unit is heavy enough to stay put when used but light enough not to break my back moving it. The four holes in the base also give you a easy point to bolt the unit down. I have put about 1200 board foot through this unit and it is still cutting as well as, if not better than, my friends three knife brand. The measurements appear accurate and the shavings collector all work well. If I had one issue it would be the placement of the power cord at the front left of unit. A side placement would seem more practical and out of the way. This is a quality planer that looks as if it will last the long haul. I will let you know in a future post about ease of blade replacement and cleaning. Well done Craftsman. ... show more

  • Worked perfectly
Style: Planer
Used to plane down pallet wood and also some walnut boards had no issues only difficult part is getting the sled 100% level to cut down on snipe as much as possible. I glued some magnets to a level to go across the sled makes it super easy to level out just stick the magnets to each end and the middle and tighten the screws. I’ll be buying more craftsman tools after this the quality is great and for cheaper than most others. ... show more

  • This thing is AWESOME!
Style: Planer
The media could not be loaded. Hub's and I set up the new craftsman bench top 15amp planer. Very easy to set up, all we had to do was add the handle and plug it in. We took it for a test drive with a 2x4, 1x3 treated board and a cedar fence. This thing is AWESOME! The wood was nice and smooth.. took the rounded edges off with ease. Love that it can take large boards and it's easy to adjust. My only complaint is that there is a snipe at the end of the wood. It's like the board hopped or something pushed the blade down more when you first insert the wood...🤷♀️ Not sure how to fix that. Guess we need to research how to correct that, but other than that, it works perfectly! This is going to save me so much time and headaches! Time to read the instructions! Update: snipe is easy to fix. Make sure the board is being inserted straight. Don't make deep cuts all that once, do smaller passes multiple times to help prevent snipe ... show more
