This came in such a small box & is so lightweight I thought it may be more of a toy than a tool, but it works well. I've been using 1 of the 5 red plastic blades for trimming grass and soft weeds. The blade has survived MANY hits against my granite garden steps without damage, perhaps because the motor is light enough the blade stops when it hits a heavy load. That takes getting used to, but winds up being a time saver compared to my more powerful string trimmer where the string breaks off regularly. The metal and saw blades may wind up being accessories I never need to use. I wanted to see how long each of the 2 batteries will last, but after an hour of use, the 1st one is still going strong on its initial charge - so battery life won't be an issue despite them being so small and light. This tool probably weighs 1/2 to 1/3 of my Greenworks trimmer, and likely even my wife would be comfortable with it. Assembly took about 10 minutes (once I realized the instruction sheet is worthless. The assembly is easily intuitive. I included a photo of all the parts & accessories as they come out of the box). For my grass trimming use, this is a convenient tool at a fraction of the cost of my larger string trimmer. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I am going to be really happy to throw out my old gas powered weeder with the spinning string. This is officially my new favorite tool. I'll say that I did have my doubts in the beginning… It came in a rather small box and you had to assemble everything. The instructions left a lot to be desired; they were a bit confusing with unclear photos and not many words in the directions aside from "prepare the part"... stuff like that (prepare how?? For what?). However, with a little trial and error, I did figure it out. The black kind of rubber piece is to anchor the handle piece, which clamps on top (it's not clear in the fuzzy photos). I recommend watching the video on assembly a few times. Once I got it together, it was pretty much plug-and-play and smooth sailing for me. For its size, it has quite some power. I show just how much the plastic pieces slice through an unruly rose bush. Those plastic ones are mostly for grass and weeds. Bigger weeds and small diameter twigs and branches (smaller than a pencil diameter, I would say), use the long metal blades. Thick diameter woody branches, use the circle saw blade. In fact, I was able to use it to saw down a small maple tree that attached itself to the foundation of my house... there was no saving it, it had to go, but in that position, there was no way to dig into the soil to get the roots, so we had to saw it at the base. The saw went right through it almost as fast as my mom's mini chainsaw! Impressive. I've been using it for everything yardwork today, from cutting down dead branches, to pruning unruly bushes, to getting weeds in corners. It's nice and lightweight, easy to maneuver, even above head level for higher branches. I felt relatively safe using it with the provided safety glasses and gloves; there is a safety button. You just have to get used to pushing that once and then holding down the other button. Easy to change out blades with provided tools--only takes a second. I recommend that if you start hearing a vibration noise while it is spinning, turn off the machine and check that the blade is still locked in tightly. It only happened to me once, and I think it was user error because I didn't hold down the rotor part tightly enough when securing it, as directed. After that, everything was secure and I ended up finishing a whole bunch of yardwork chores that I have been putting off for ages… Because this did everything! ... show more

    • Difficult to assemble
The instructions say there is a video on this page but I don't see one over how to assemble this thing. I don't understand how others are saying it's easy to put together. I have struggled with this thing for 30 minutes. Who knows if I will ever get it to work.
