Purchased this cooktop after looking at a lot of models and reviews. This is a moderately priced unit and so far seems to work well. Packaged well & the unit survived even with a big gash in the shipping carton. The unit looks really good and easy to clean. Temperature control works well once you get used to the touchpad. The only minor annoyance (if that) is that the magnetic induction is pulsed rather than continuous. This is likely true for all induction units but the pulsing is more obvious on this unit compared to my higher priced (3x) Kenmore unit. The manufacturer should be able to soften the algorithm without a huge redesign. ... show more

    • Easy install, works beautifully!
When I renovated my kitchen a few years ago, I almost spent the extra to buy and induction cooktop rather than the radiant top I actually purchased, and it was a decision that I regretted ever after. When I saw this particular unit, I knew I had to give it a try. What appeal to be most about this cooktop is the burner layout. Each of the side "burners" are bridgeable, meaning you can extend them together to function as one large burner. This is great if you use a grill pan (as we often do,) but still enables you to manage the burners independently. The large central burner is great for everything from a smaller pot to my large, 28 qt. stock pot. Everything heats well and evenly. As with any induction burner, the device heats up quickly as it heats the pot, not the glass top. Installation for me was a bit of a challenge. I was able to lift out my old cooktop easily, and ideally this would drop into the same space to replace it. I have granite countertops, so trimming the countertop is NOT an option. Instead, I found that this cooktop is 1 inch smaller in each dimension than my old one, so I had to add supports to the underlying cabinet to make sure the cooktop is well-supported. this worked perfectly, and the top lip of the cooktop was still large enough to cover the edges of the cutout. If I had to complain about something, it would be the highly reflective glass cooktop. When clean, it's beautiful. However, it shows every single fingerprint. I find myself constantly polishing it with a microfiber towel to keep it spotless. Because the top doesn't heat up (although it does get hot from the pan,) spills don't burn on as badly as they do on a traditional glass cooktop. If the glass had a bit more of a matte finish (like my old KitchenAid Architect series) it would eliminate this issue. The controls for the unit are easy to operate. To turn the unit on, you touch the on/off button for 3 seconds. After that, you can touch the location of any burner on the cooktop, then slide your finger across the sensor to select a level from 1 to 9. In addition, there are two extra options: you can place a burner on a "keep warm" setting, and you can use a "boost" option to maximize the power to any burner for an even quicker heat. To adjust the temperature setting during a cook, simply touch the burner's location on the control, then change the setting. Again, I've been using this for a few weeks now and I love it. I've not experienced any negative issues at all. I don't know about the longevity of the product, obviously, but I hope it continues to service as well as it does today. For the current price of the unit, this is a real bargain. Based upon all of my experiences, I would definitely order this again and have no reservation in recommending it to others. ... show more

    • Pleasantly surprised by the overall quality.
This is really nice, and the surface is resilient to scratching, as we had a scare during moving it. Currently still framing out the area for installation. We set it up on the workbench made sure everything was operational. The spacing is not too crowded and should allow for a full dinner to be effectively cooked ( 3 pans no problem) ... show more

I have been building a small (not tiny) home for myself. Paid cash for a small lot, used a fairly simple building method for the house that I could manage more or less by myself and I have been laying aside items for the house as I can - the items that I want like a really nice kitchen vent and a beautiful stainless steel double sink. I had been waiting and waffling on a stovetop as I wanted an induction style - my second choice was natural/propane gas cooktop as I have always found gas to be so easy to control from keeping things warm to fast, hard boil. But I am glad I waited and got this induction cooktop - I set it on the counter outside where my summer kitchen will be and tested it - I do love having five burners. My first time having five! The fact I can "join" the two side burners so that I can make a grill for steaks or making pancakes is such a nice feature. Having a completely flat top makes cleanup a breeze and I did purchase a silicone mat to cover the cooktop when not in use to save scratching, pitting...y'know, breakage but it also keeps smears and such off the surface. Clean it, cover it and it stays clean! Can't do that with gas burners or traditional electric coil burners either. If you are in the market to upgrade your kitchen, this is it - for real! ... show more

Super easy to use and easy to clean. I may have to get the cooktop pad things for the burners. Pans can scratch and dull the surface of the cooktop over time and those burner pads help protect it, without negatively impacting your ability to cook on it. These types of cooktops require specific pans be used. Some pans are not good for or may ruin the cooktop. So make sure you're cooking with induction cooktop safe pans. I really like the portability of this cooktop, too. Love this thing ... show more

We got this for our new home. It arrives ready to install. It comes with great directions that are easy to use. It has a cut out template to mark everything for a perfect fit. It is very well made. The frame feels sturdy and solid. The attachments underneath it are durable quality. To test it out we installed in in the new kitchen area. It took my husband 40 minutes to install by himself. Once it was installed we tested each burner. They all turned off and on as intended. It reacted just like the electric glass top full oven we have in our current home.
