After doing 3 metric tons of research online, I finally reached the decision to buy this Caramel Eboy Baritone Ukelele. Wasn't sure what to expect really, because I've never bought this particular type of ukelele before. I have used and purchased probably thousands of different instruments over my lifetime, but never a baritone uke. Man, was I surprised. A lot. Like... surprise after surprise. Firstly, the uke came REALLY well packages and protected. Then, you get past the generous packaging and look at it in real life, and you're taken aback at how PRETTY it is. Then, you tune it up and pluck it for the first time, and you hear the rich, warm tones coming out of the thing. Built-in tuner works GREAT and even I can see it. they gave me an extra set of button batteries for it. Tuning mechanics seem fine so far. The strap buttons came already installed! Gig bag is nicely padded, although slightly different than what is shown in the picture. They trhew in an extra set of strings, picks, micro-fiber cloth, truss-rod wrench (yes, this thing has a truss rod), etc. Even the inexpensive strap they threw in, I like and use. It's pretty, too. I am just trying to tell you all that you probably won't be disappointed if you go with this one. ... show more

Bought this on a whim and discovered I love it. Well constructed, unique looking and fun to play. I had to lower the action a bit but that was a simple 5 minute job using the tool provided. It sounds good but seems to me to be a bit muted on the two nylon strings but that may just be a steel string acoustic guy playing on nylon strings. I would buy this again. ... show more

When I saw this beautiful, Ebony wood instrument on Amazon, I had to have it to add to my Ukulele collection. So far I have a Makala Mahogany and Rosewood Concert C Soprano Ukulele. A Lava U Concert C Tenor Ukulele, and now this lovely Caramel Baritone Ebony Wood Concert G Ukulele. It arrived very well packaged. The instrument, and everything that came with it, is of excellent quality. This company has a history of selling amazing instruments, made of excellent woods, perfect craftsmanship, the hardware is top notch. They even put Aquila strings on it. The tuner is built right in so that you don't have to worry about finding or buying a tuner in order to tune your instrument. It has a gorgeous Ukulele strap, something to hang the Ukulele on the wall with if you want to, extra strings, some tools, extra batteries for the tuner, picks, and some extra replacement pieces, all of which are described on their Amazon store page. They even included a polishing cloth for it. The gig bag is fine quality and so is the little storage bag for the extra parts and accessories. It also has a cord to plug into the Ukulele and an amp if you have an amp, that is. I have a small Honeywell amp. The amp I have has a place for a battery, but I ordered an electric adapter cord for it extra. So when I hooked up my Baritone Ukulele to that, the sound was incredible. Whether you play it with or without an amp, you would be extremely pleased with this instrument. A lot of care has been taken in the making and the presentation of this beautiful, beautiful instrument. The notes are different on it than what are on the Sopranor or Tenor Ukuleles, but it's not that difficult to learn how to do if you play a Ukulele already. While I was waiting for my Caramel Baritone Ukulele to arrive, I went onto youtube and looked at various reviews regarding Caramel Ukuleles and was so encouraged by what I found. These good folks use various types of quality woods when they make these lovely Ukuleles. I saw some that featured Zebra Wood, one that featured Marblized Maple Wood, and one that featured A Rosewood and Mahogany Wood. I think one was of Spruce also. I knew if my Ukulele sounded half as good as theirs, I would be happy. Well it sounds just as good as theirs did. I can't say enough about this beautiful Ukulele. Amazing quality work and excellent quality extras to come along with it, and the price is much less than you'd expect to pay for such an amazing quality instrument. Overall I'm very pleased with this baritone ukulele. Note that the one I ordered is the baritone size (this time). Mine DID come with a slotted headstock as pictured, and a standard tie-on bridge which I'm actually glad about. Unboxing it, I was pleasantly surprised that it was very clean and polished (unlike the tenor I previously purchased, which was VERY dusty and dull-looking until I thoroughly cleaned and polished it). It DOES have the Aquila DGBE strings that I also really like. The electronics work perfectly, and the tuners work smoothly, though they look rather cheap. I like that they are black with copper gears. The fret-ends are OK, but I'll probably dress them later to give a better feel. The action is nicely set, both at the nut and the saddle. The neck relief is set nicely with just a slight concave and no buzzing anywhere. The gig bag looks OK, though rather lightly padded. The pouch for accessories is nice, though I may not use most of the contents. Two minor niggles: 1. The strap button for the neck is oddly placed on the front of the heel. This could cause the heel to crack, so I'll move it to the proper location. 2. The big niggle is that the inner surfaces of the slotted head are very poorly "finished" as they appear to not have been sanded at all. That I will absolutely have to rectify right away. Finally, I'm very pleased with the somewhat mellow sound, but I expected it from my other Caramel uke. It doesn't have the punch of my Oscar Schmidt Spalted Mango Baritone (OU57), but I think it sounds good. Overall, I'm very pleased. ... show more
