I love this thing. It's got a lot of power send options on it. It comes with some great accessories for tapping to cameras and lights (cabling). It was well worth the money. I leave it in my kit at all times now. Even when mounting to a tripod I set up a rail system for my GH4's and GH5's to make sure we're on V-mount power and this thing is my go-to tap. ... show more

    • Good V-Mount Plate, Great after modification.
So I was torn on this plate or the "green" one. You probably know. But I went with the less expensive one since I didn't really need the HDMI splitter built in. This is a good plate, but not without issues. THE GOOD: It's got probably everything a beginner needs to power their camera, monitor, and even a USB item, plus it's got another D-Tap for any kind of connection. The 15mm rod connection point can be configured for upright or flat mounting. The cheese plate on the back has plenty of 1/4" and 3/8" mounting points. THE NOT SO GOOD: the cheeseplate holes aren't very deep. Some of my connector screws will go all the way through and into the actual material of the plate. On my unit, when a battery is mounted and locked in place, there was a very slight wiggle that would kill the power to the plate under some circumstances. (Fix below) So now to the fix. I unscrewed the locking mechanism on the plate and put a very thin piece of plastic between the plate and the v-lock plate along the right hand side (as you look at it). The plastic was a piece cut from the plastic case that comes with SD cards. So very flat, and about 1 inch tall by maybe 1/4" wide. This took out JUST enough slop in the fit so that a battery locked in place no longer has any wiggle room, and the electrical connection is 100% now. The wiggle might not be a problem on your unit, but it was a definite problem for me, and cut out my monitor often. I wouldn't recommend this plate if you have mission critical work to do and you will be powering your camera through the plate. The quality control just doesn't seem to catch everything. Since, I've moved to a D-Tap distribution block, taking the majority of the plate power out of the equation. But for smaller rigs, I still use it. If you need to power peripherals with the block, it should be ok. You could try the fix if you're finding connection problems. ... show more

Awesome plate. Had a small issue with my vmount battery fitting securely. But after an easy fix to remove some extruded plastic it works perfectly. Anyway I can use all my various accessories with this thing. Great product at this price.

    • Best Fit of V-Lock Features for My Production
V-Lock plates need to come with enough DC outputs to power most or all of your typical equipment for a standard shoot. With this battery plate, I'm able to power my Sony FS5 (via 12V DC barrel power), my Zacuto Gratical EVF (via 7.4V DC barrel power), my Nucleus-M Follow Focus (with the D-Tap output) as well as my Atomos recorder (using the D-Tap on my actual batteries). This level of ease of use is refreshing and the build quality of this fairly inexpensive battery plate is great.
