  • Great game once I figured out how to get the gun to connect to the console.
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: With Gun
The game worked fine out of the box but I could not get the gun to connect to the system. My son enjoyed the game using the xbox controller but I was considering sending it back for a new gun. Yes you can play without the gun. Then I figured out that there is a small button on the xbox 360 console (front, bottom, right) that needs tp be pressed before trying to sink the gun to the console. Once I did that it connect up with no problems. I see a lot of negative reviews stating the gun does not work. Maybe this is the only problem. (directions could be better). My son loves the game and can't want to have his buddies over to play. I am not a gamer and really don't play any games but I have to say this one is pretty fun. ... show more

  • who has recently developed a love for shooting
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: With Gun
I initially purchased this game for my 9 (almost 10) year old son, who has recently developed a love for shooting. I searched all over trying to find a game that wasn't rated M and while this one still has violence, it's really fun. Easy to assemble and set up the game, lots of options for scenery, targets, story lines, etc. I've heard the story part isn't great, but honestly, it's fine for what he was looking for. Some parts are a little intense, when the animals start attacking you if you are not fast enough but not too bad for older kids. The whole family loved doing the target practice and competing with the different scenes. All in all, really happy with the game! ... show more

  • Pretty dissapointed...
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: With Gun
Aiming this gun is a real pain. I bought this as a way to introduce my son to games for his Xbox other than Call of Duty, Modern warfare or other war based games. I remember playing duck hunt when I was younger and how amazed I was because I could not figure out for the life of me how it knew where I was shooting. Well this game is obviously lacking the tech Nintendo figured out twenty five years ago. It needs an IR sensor you place in front of your TV and then you need to calibrate it. This is fine, but the games react very poorly and the actual time it takes to place your aim on the the target lags so much you could probably take a drink of your soda before the reticle is placed with your aim. Terrible since this game relies on your reaction time, when really you need to make up for the games reaction time to your movements. Another shortfall to this game is the incredibly easily predictable game play. Once you play it once, you can easily know exactly from which direction the targets will come from and how they will react to you. AI is freakin horrible. I think 3 stars may be a little forgiving, but this is the only gun game for XBox and maybe there is a good reason for it. Nintendo's 25 year old tech just cant be replicated. ... show more

  • A Great Value under $10
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: With Gun
Though the game play is somewhat linear, my boys (11, 8, 7) really love this game. It is a tremendous value with the gun included. Some people complain about the game not being top-notch or the gun not being responsive enough. My opinion is if you are spending less than $10 for a game (especially when it includes the gun), you can be pleased if it even WORKS. This is a great value at under $10. ... show more

  • Badass for any hunter or hunting game fan!
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: With Gun
Game is really cool if you're into hunting games. The fearmaster rifle is definitely 10 times better than the topshot elite rifle from Cabela's. It has better response and also the feature of the heart rate and shakiness detectors. Only downside to this new rifle is that you can't reload the shotgun like you could on the topshot elite rifle. In the sense of you pulling the reload hand thing back and forth. That is really the only downer. Other than that it is badass. ... show more

  • Definitly worth the buy
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: With Gun
I think the critical reviews were by people who wanted it to be a sniper simulation... this is a really fun arcade style game (haven't played much of the story mode yet, may be more like really hunting), but tons of fun in the multiplayer (take turns one at a time) games. The predators are kinda scary running at you, not gonna lie. ... show more

  • Why didn't they just make it a pistol? The gun is a joke!
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: With Gun
Gun is child size, too small for an average adult to hold like a real rifle without it being really awkward. Because of the size you probably won't shoot it like a rifle, you'll hold it out from your body like a pistol. So it would have been a lot smarter and more realistic to just make the gun a pistol. Sights are useless, only two white plastic bumps. When holding the gun like a rifle I found it to small to use the sights anyway. Gun requires two AA batteries and sensor bar requires two AA batteries. Can't say much else about it because my gun would not connect to the console. The gun has an on/off button on the side just like on a Xbox 360 controller. When I pressed the button on the gun the lights would spin like it was trying to connect with the console but never would. My regular controller had no problems connecting. I guess you could play this game with the regular controller, but the whole reason I bought it was to play it with the gun. Since the gun doesn't work and was a joke anyway, I didn't bother playing it with the controller and decided to return it. ... show more

  • Fun Game
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: With Gun
The game is very fun, if not very life-like (which is probably a good thing). My 12 year old loves it. You have to hold the button on the gun for a few seconds to get it to sync with the console, but once I figured that out it worked great.
