A lot of products throw around the terms "pro" and "commercial grade", but these LED lights really seem built to last. Right out of the box, you can feel their weight, all covered by a rubberized surface that will withstand the elements. The packaging is no fuss - a 48-foot strand coil, a box of 15 individually-wrapped and -boxed LED bulbs, and a simple instruction sheet. To be honest, they are pretty much plug in and go, but there are some things worth considering: 1) The strand is 48-feet long with 15 lights. This means there is a 3-foot spacing between each bulb, as well as 3 feet at the start and end of the strand. It's worthwhile considering, since if you connect multiple strands (which you can do since the end has a female receptacle), you will have a 6-foot gap. If you're a detail-oriented planner, you'd want to take that into consideration. 2) The strand has a 2-prong plug (i.e., no ground wire). This means that it is adaptable to most extension cords, but you will want to take into account other items you may want to connect, like dimmers and remotes. 3) The LEDs are made of "durable glass", and I'd believe it. The glass even feels a bit soft to withstand bumps and knocks, but is crystal clear. Since these are vintage-style LEDs, the yellow LED "filaments" are quite visible during the daytime, but still look attractive. 4) It is recommended that the strand be hung by 16-gauge wire or cable, or mounted with hooks. Given the weight, don't skimp on cheap mounting options, as you will want to do this the right way. I mounted the cord above my pergola with wrap-around cable clips and stainless screws (really taking the time to protect the cord), allowing the bulbs to hang between the slats. 5) Most importantly, it should be noted that these lights are very bright. Mind you, as I just mentioned, I mounted mine on a pergola, which picks up the lighting much more than, say, an open-air application. However, as standard, they cast a lot of light. Since they are dimmable, I highly recommend an outdoor dimmer. I purchased a SUNYE Max Power 200W Waterproof Outdoor String Lights Wireless Remote Control, 150Feet Range, Memory, Stepless Dimming, IP68 WATERPROOF.UL 3 Pin Plug Remote Control Dimmer (ONLY FOR LED DIMMABLE BULB) outdoor dimmer, and that was the best decision. I've included two photos at the maximum (100%) and minimum (<25%) settings. The minimum setting is what I use nearly all the time as it's a nice glow (but still bright). If I have dinner parties, I use brighter settings, but even 50% is far too bright for most applications. Without a dimmer, I don't know if I could use these lights. 6) I also purchased a Z-Wave outdoor module GE Z-Wave Wireless Smart Lighting Control Outdoor Module, On/Off, Plug-In, Black, Hub Required, 12720, Works with Alexa , a weatherproof receptacle cover Taymac MX3300 One Gang Horizontal In Use Metal Weatherproof Receptacle Cover and extension cord connector covers Cordsafe Extension Cord Connector with Water-Resistant Seal (Orange) for Cord Management to properly weatherproof the set-up. We've had a couple of torrential downpours and windstorms, and the lights have withstood them all without fail. I expect to have years of use from these lights, so would definitely recommend them and buy again. ... show more

These lights are perfect for our patio! I must not have realized there were other color lighting or I would have initially ordered a warmer as that was what I was going for. It doesn't matter now because these are perfect with a dimmer. These lights are definitely really bright, if you don't buy one (I purchased reviewers suggested dimmer - Lutron Credenza LED+ Plug-In Lamp Dimmer Switch for dimmable LED, Halogen and Incandescent Bulbs | TTCL-100H-BL | Black). The dimmer works great for us. I read that people had issues getting the dimmer to work if they didn't take out the first light bulb but we didn't have any at all. Dimming is the best part, as we sometimes have it brighter to work on projects and dimmer for a more relaxed evening/entertaining. They are heavy duty cords and the light bulbs seem pretty fragile but my husband has banged them around a bunch and surprisingly we have had no broken ones (yet). Make sure you screw the bulbs in all the way if they don't seem to be working. My husband had a good laugh at me for this. These seem to hold up will in rain/stormy weather. I'm pretty impressed with these and they completed my outdoor area. New happy place! I will definitely order more down the road. ... show more

Brightech Ambience Pro LED Outdoor Lights were a HUGE hit at our sons 1st year "Logger Chili Cook Off Party"!!! Brightech lights arrived on time and in great shape. As a Journeyman Electrician, I was very impressed with the quality of these lights! UL listed for outdoor use and commercial engineering from the cord wiring to the weather proof socket! Even the glass LED Bulbs seemed to be industrial and high quality, even down to the LED Edison style filament looked to be very durable!!! These lights give off a warm color glow, not the blue tint usually associated with LEDs. I was impressed with how bright the 1 and 2watt bulbs were. They are great for entertaining! For my pergola on the deck, I used the 1watt bulbs, I felt they were a little bright so being an electrician I installed a dimmer switch. (Lutron Diva 150-Watt 3-Way Single Pole White Indoor Slide Dimmer from Lowes). Even though rated for indoor use, I installed the dimmer switch in an outdoor weather proof box to control a single outlet just for plug in lighting. The Lutron Dimmer worked great! The LEDs can dim all the way down to nothing or as bright as they come with NO Flickering! The Brightech Lights are a little heavy so I recommend installing a metal guide wire (aka aircraft wire is what we call it in the trade) and then attach the string lighting to it. Or just use the supplied attachment point and a screw to hang the lighting. Never just support the lighting from one attachment point and let them hang without support since this will put strain on the string lighting and potentially cause a short. Over all Great Lights!!!!     • Great LED String Lights to set the mood
High quality, well packaged, and does a great job at illuminating our deck and pergola. We wanted commercial grade with a shorter drop to prevent swaying and bulb breakage as our deck has a constant breeze. These lights totally met all our requirements and look expensive.
