Advice from a first timing epilating person. See those red bumps? Yeah those were from shaving and they always appear and last forever with me. For the life of you, SHAVE FIRST AND THEN EPILATE WHEN THE HAIRS GROW BACK. This machine has the ability and yeah you will really feel it’s ability to yank out your armpit hair. See my first ever attempt photo? My hair was long and I epilated it like an idiot. I then gave up and only attempted to try to epilate a month later. What made me go back to this self-masochistic beauty treatment? It made the hair in that small section (I went balls to the walls in the middle of my armpit instead of the edges, again like an idiot) less dense compared to the rest. My (proper) first ever epilating session took me over 40 minutes in the shower. How I know this? I was on my comfort playlist on YouTube because I really needed the distraction. YOU WILL NEED A DISTRACTION TOO! I consider this worse than period cramps (And trust me, mine is bad enough that if I don’t take a pain killer the day before and regularly during, then I will have to call out of school and work). I only had the pain tolerance to do one armpit. You will feel the irritation. For me it was this burning sensation like a bad case of sunburn. Any sense of coldness on it felt heaven. This actually made me turn my shower cold (I usually do hot but was did warm when I started this then cold for the bliss it gave my one single hairless armpit). I only did my other armpit a week later. GOOD NEWS: if you do this weekly or even biweekly (every two weeks not twice a week), it’s less pain. Reminder folks: CONSISTENT USAGE = less hair = less pain. Why should you do this every 1-2 weeks? Hair growth happens in cycles and of course it’s not all in sync. Sometimes some parts will grow more than the other part. Ergo, be consistent, or close enough. After 2 months of usage, the hair that does show up every week is either so sparse that people won’t notice if I skip a week of epilating. Proof is in the photos of Lefty and Righty. Sure you can see hair from 2 weeks of not epilating but that is honestly a small backyard with barely any grass. Before epilating, my armpits were dense jungle of armpit hair. Nowadays I even got used to the machine, and yes having less hair for it to pull does help. WHEN EPILATING MAKE SURE YOU DO IT SMALL CIRCLES TO MAKE SURE YOUR GETTING EVERY HAIR AS YOU MOVE ALONG. Does armpit hair gross people put? It does to some but not me since I was willing to take pics of mine to show people contemplating here my experience. Why do I do it even though armpit hair doesn’t gross me out and I’m willing for strangers on the streets and internet to see my hairy pits? I honestly like the sensation of SMOOTH pits. Shaving does nothing for me as it will come back stubbly and prickly and with red bumps the next day. Why the hell am I leaving an essay of a review months after I bought this? The body and face machines work, and I’m more than happy with the results since I can have smooth and clear armpits. ... show more

This little torture device is fabulous. It does really hurt the first time but if you keep it up (redo about every 2 weeks) it doesn't hurt as much b/c there will be less hair to pull each time. The entire set is useful - shaver to get hair down to right length for epilating (or just a regular shave), exfoliators to prep skin and keep away ingrowns, and the epilator itself. So if you're like me and have been thinking about getting one of these for a while, just do it!! If you're also like me and 100% italian with dark hair, then definitely get one!! I would shave my legs and no lie 5 hours later I'd have 5o'clock shadow!!! I live in florida and needless to say, always wearing shorts or dresses etc, and constantly shaving. This little magical machine has cut this down significantly!! It says for first timers to do it 3x a week to really get all that hair that grows at different stages and so I did even though I didn't really have tom the first time was "painful" but not really, just more like a shock... if you have tattoos, you'll be fine 🙂. After the 3rd time not only was it easier and quicker but alot less of that pain. My #1 suggestion is follow the instructions, exfoliate, do it in the bath, use a bit of shaving cream, and really pull the skin tight. You won't get bumps! Also, my little trick, I run into a cold shower after the bath and then use aloe, and wa-lah! No bumps and shiny silky skin! Buy one, you won't regret it!! ... show more

I've only used once, but so far I like it. I only have two issues: 1- The instruction book is difficult to read, basically just pictures, and all crammed into two pages, so its difficult to navigate. 2- The on/off/speed dial is confusing. It looks like there should be a button to press, but its actually meant to turn like a combination lock. It is difficult to turn, as the little bits that you are supposed to use for that are tiny, I think if those two issues were addressed it would be darn close to perfect. ... show more

Multiple times I have had the silver bar with the plastic "beads" on it fall out of the epilator wide head attachment. It happened while I was epilating in the shower and all the plastic beads came off the metal bar that popped out and went down the drain. I haven't had this epilator very long and within 2-3 months of use the smaller facial epilator did not work anymore regardless of new batteries and cleaning, etc. Now, after just a year of minimal use, the large epilator wide head attachment is broken and irreparable. I can justify the expensive price for a product that will be potentially breaking less than a year in. ... show more
