Description

Brew better-tasting and clearer beer, in less time, without waste or additives with BOUNCER inline beer filters. Finally, an affordable and reusable filtration solution for home brewers! Use the Bouncer inline between your fermenter and keg, or between your boil kettle and your fermenter. Removes trub, hops, and particulates without aerating. It's easy to add to your setup, easy to clean, and easy to use. You'll get more out of each batch, since you don't have to avoid the trub layer as carefully. Pays for itself in a few batches! There are three basic ways to use the Bouncer inline filter: 1) out of the brew kettle 2) out of the fermenter 3) out of your serving tap. To use your bouncer out of the brew kettle, simply connect it to your brew kettle valve with standard tubing, or cut your siphon tube line near the top, and insert the barbs into the tube. Pay attention to the arrow that indicates the flow direction. Make sure you have disassembled the bouncer and dipped it in sanitizer just before you use it. Then open your valve, or pump your siphon. If the flow decreases too much, you can stop the flow, remove the bowl and filter, rinse, sanitize, reinstall, and keep going. On a heavily hopped IPA, or a 10 gallon batch, you might find you need to clear it several times. To use your Bouncer out of your fermenter, cut your siphon tube near the top, and push the barb ends into the tubes, paying attention to the flow direction arrow. The barb ends fit a standard siphon. Make sure to sanitize right before you use it. You might find a bubble develop in the filter bowl - this isn't air, it's carbon dioxide from your beer. Just lift the barbed ends so they are level and the bubble should clear down the tube. Finally, you can hack a mini Randall out of your bouncer. Try orange peels for a Blonde Ale, cracked coffee beans in a Porter, or cloves in your Pumpkin Ale.

  • Makes a clean beer.
Love this thing. So easy to use and clean. Plus it makes a really clean beer.

  • Very good. I bought two with different (fine and medium screen sizes) filter screens.
Very satisfied. I put the medium screen in line first and the fine screen in second. Filter housing is a durable hard plastic.

  • Amazing! Every Brewer Needs One!
I’ve never left a review for anything on Amazon. This is my first because this thing is amazing. I bought the additional screen kit and have not used the red one that it came with. But I used the white one and it clogged up fast transferring a NEIPA from a pressurized spike conical fermenter to a keg. So I flipped it out for the blue one and that worked perfectly. When I was done transferring 5 gallons the filter was packed with hop matter. So glad that didn’t go into the keg. I can’t believe I’ve gone 6 years of brewing without this. Make sure you get the additional screen pack. I have yet to try the red screen and I personally think is a bit large, but again haven’t tried that one yet. ... show more

  • Excellent inline filter
I tried to use a cheap import, but it leaked and had to be returned. These are excellent quality units and do just what you need them to do. If I had to nitpick, the red filter seems pretty porous unless you are pumping some serious matter with your wort, but I knew going in that I was also buying the blue and the white filters. It's still worth the money, but it would be nice if there was a way to buy it without the red one or to bundle it with all three. In fairness to the red filter, it would stop your poppet from getting plugged with a gelatin blob or some other big chunk that gets sucked in during a closed transfer. If avoiding an interrupted closed transfer is the goal, the red filter should suffice. The main takeaway is that it's a quality product that runs circles around the knockoff options. ... show more

  • MADE IN AMERICA
I was impressed with the thickness of the materials used in this filter, is very robust and solid. You will not be disappointed, this is not a Chinese counterfeit.

  • Works great for large particles
Works great for floculated yeast, while still slowing smaller yeast through for bottle conditioning. Would 100% recommend for any home brewer.

  • It’s super tiny!
I thought I was actually getting punked when I opened the package- this thing is TINY! It is maybe 3 inches tall, and very compact. The quality seems good, and the additional filters are a must. I don’t cold crash my fermenter....(yet.... I’m counting pennies so I can run glycol) so that makes it difficult to close-transfer super hoppy beers to my kegs without problems. This seems like a reasonable solution till I can drop a grand on SS Brewtech. Again, added screens are a must! ... show more

  • Good concept if you used other preventatives
I have just used this filter once and it worked just ok. I used it during transfer to my fermenter and it got slightly clogged but think that was do to user error. (I forgot to put my bazooka tube screen on my valve, as well as using my hop spider!) other than a slight reduction to flow rate near the end of my transfer this filter produced superb bright beer. I am excited to try it when I transfer from fermenter to my keg this week! ... show more
