  • IT’S NOT THE AMP’S FAULT!
Style: 400W 4 Channel
***UPDATE 8/4/18*** I went mudding a week ago and accidentally sank my jeep in a pond 🙃 Completely flooded the floor of my interior and soaked the amp, luckily it was off. A couple days later I ripped the entire interior out and washed it out really good, like literally washed the inside of my jeep with a hose. I figured the amp had already been soaked what more harm could I do. Got everything back together after drying out, fired up the jeep, turned the stereo on and BAM! Perfect sound quality. If it can get soaked twice and still work I think that says something. *end of update* Did you know, that running your power lead in close proximity to your audio cables can cause loss of sound clarity, distortion, and you guessed it, alternator whine?! I’ve had to fix plenty of botched installs due to this. I did a little test and ran my audio cables directly next to my 4g power lead going to both my amps. Heavy whine and almost no signal clarity. Re routed my cables to run on the opposite side of my power lead and wow! Signal was clear, bassy, and no alternator whine. This amp is phenomenal and woke up the old Bose speakers I pulled out of a 2001 Pontiac GTP (2ohms at 50 watts RMS, give or take). I drive a Jeep Wrangler TJ and space is precious, so I can’t have big amps and fancy subs. This fit under my driver seat perfectly and cranks some serious audio to my speakers, even with the top down. Great price for a quality low budget system and I get lots of compliments from friends. GREAT AMP!!! ... show more

  • Perfect for hearing music over big twin Harley
Style: 400W 4 Channel
Purchased this amp to push two saddlebag lid 6x9's and 2 boss audio handlebar speakers. Already had BOSS Audio Systems MC900B 500 watt Bluetooth 4 channel handle bar with lighted Remote it just didn't have enough to push the 6x9's . Cut 1/4 inch black plexiglass and mounted both amps then wired it all into deutsch plugs so it can all be easily removed .used longer screws and nuts on the saddlebag latches to mount the plexiglass . It sounds amazing it is obnoxiously Loud at standstill when riding at 70 you can clearly hear the music. Only have gain quarter way on handlebar speakers and almost half on 6x9's. would not play music unless engine is running probably drain battery pretty quickly. 100% would recommend. ... show more

  • Worst amp ever.
Style: 400W 4 Channel
After looking up this amp and getting horrible feedback. I spent hours and hours troubleshooting every possible scenario from the speakers to the head unit to high input and ran low input, no resolution. Ended up buying a quality amp and not being able to return this one cuz it was connected. Don't waste your money, spend the extra 50.00 for a quality amp from the get go. DONT MAKE MY MISTAKE. ... show more

  • Awesome amp.... While it works.
Style: 400W 4 Channel
As others have said. Static noise. I can live with it as I only heard it a low volume levels. However, after only being installed for 2 months, channels 3 and 4 stopped working yesterday. I swapped rca wires. Swapped speaker wires. Nothing. Channels 1 and 2 still work perfectly. Going to contact Boss to see if they'll replace it but I most likely purchase a different 4 channel amp for my 2018 JLU. 11/13/23 UPDATE: Boss Audio reached out to me after I filed a warranty claim. They had me destroy my current amp, email pictures to prove, and are sending me a new one. I have updated my review from 2 to 4 stars based on the very good customer service. ... show more

  • Boss quality at a remarkable price
Style: 400W 4 Channel
I've had Boss equipment my whole adult life: guitar effect pedals, MIDI equipment etc.. I paid a little extra however it would consistently outperform it's competitors. Frankly I bought this because my car system was on a budget, it's the best amplifier I've ever had. Plenty of power. I was expecting to have to mess with filters and transformers to eliminate noise in my 1968 Plymouth, especially from the alternator. Lo and behold NONE! Use top quality cords, I used a 10 foot Rica tipped 6 in one. Ground it well, Spend a little extra on speakers you'll love the sound. ... show more

  • Ok I guess
Style: 400W 4 Channel
Hook this up to 4 6x9 sounded the same as the car radio, hooked it up to a 10 sub. Let put it like this the sub moves a little bit, need a bigger amp, that’s my fault I should have known.

  • Another home run for BossAudio
Style: 400W 4 Channel
I purchased this as a replacement for the same unit that I inadvertently fried while troubleshooting another issue I had with my stereo. I was very happy with this amp running my tweeters and full range dash 3.5 coaxials. Just the right amount of clean power at a price point others couldn't match. I am running this 4 channel amp, another much larger 4 channel amp and a really powerful monoblock amp for the low end going through two dsp EQ's and then a true bandpass three way electronic crossover all except the dsp's, BOSS products. BOSS Audio products in my view are the best quality with the best bang for your buck available today. ... show more

  • Great amp!
Style: 1000W 4 Channel
I bought this because I was not happy with my new JVC stereo- it did not have the power my old JVC did. Come to find out the old JVC's have a great pre-amp that the new ones lack. I still have old JVC as I still go back and forth about switching it out- only thing that stops me is new has a usb port in front that I use all the time. I bought the amp to power 4 speakers in my 02 Chevy Silverado 1500 ext cab. I have it powering four Pyramid 250 watt (each) speakers- 2 are 5x8's and 2 are 6x9's. It does a great job of boosting the midrange and highs. I went from having to turn my stereo to 16 to get a decent sound level for driving to only turning it to 3 to get the same level now. I have another Boss amp (1200 watt) hooked to my subwoofer. I will say the subwoofer control is not going to boost your sub...it will actually cut power to it. It is nice if you have someone in the vehicle that hates a lot of bass, but other than that I leave it unplugged. What some people do not realize is you have to match watts for watts. If you are trying to run 1000 watt amp to power a 800 watt sub- you will not be happy. It will get hot unless you limit the output. I had that issue when changing to a lower watt sub, the amp would get hot and turn off (I thought it was the sub turning off). I had the audio shop make some changes and now all runs cool and the music is great- OK except to the old people who can't stand the thumps and loud music coming from my truck :) ... show more
