    • Good temporary writing surface
This product is amazingly convenient for anyone with a lister in the household (e.g. my fiance, who makes to-do lists that include rewriting the to-do lists). I bought two for her: letter size for home and medium size for work. We did have to buy the protective sleeves to use it, because otherwise the liner inserts don't actually sit into it at all. You'd basically have to hold the paper while writing, and while not writing. So keep that in mind when buying. We use them often. She uses it daily at work--she can jot down a bunch if quick thoughts and she doesn't waste a million post-it notes with random scribbles anymore. I've already mentioned her to-do lists at home. I find myself using it as well, especially if I need to make a quick things-to-grab-on-the-way-out-the-door list. The eraser function isn't flawless, but it certainly is useful. On my uncle's version, he didn't have an eraser button, so if you screwed up you either scribbled it out or erased the page. On this one, a screw-up is not the end of the road. Simply hold the erase button on the board to tell it you're erasing now, and voila. Erasing spreads the "ink" out more than removing it from the board entirely, but it is clearly erased and you can easily write over an erased area. There's no history, or undo, or anything of that nature to the board. They offer an app to save your work, but the app concept didn't and still doesn't make sense to me. I can use my phone's camera within the app to take a picture of the board so that the app will save it for you? We just cut out the middle man (i.e. the app), and if we need to save this list we take a picture. No app necessary. Overall it's a 5 star product given its useful and novel nature. But certainly there are things that can be improved, such as clips to hold the inserts. Beyond that, it's great for anyone who uses writing as a temporary form of communication (listers, lawyers, perhaps deaf people). It's not great for anyone who needs their written record to be permanent and accessible in the future (journalists, students), unless they are listers in their spare time :P ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Been using it a couple of days now. I bought it for the sole purpose of practicing Kana writing. It came with a square grid background which sold me on it. The better I get writing on the pad the smoother it is when I write it on paper. I no longer have to waste lots of money on printer ink to print out practice writing paper. Only negative is that it's not that bright like the pictures show and when using the erase function everything dims really bad. So after erasing something with the pen whatever you continue writing will be brighter than the rest. Having a desk lamp helps because once the sun starts going down it gets really hard to see. Btw I HIGHLY recommend buying the cover. It's sturdier than I thought. I uploaded a quick video and a picture my mom drew when she took it away from me 😄 For now I'm really happy with it. 👍 ... show more

I have mixed feelings about this product. I bought this item to keep my daily to-do list at work, and save on sticky notes. I’ve had other Boogie Boards, but this one is the most responsive. It really does a great job. Here are some things that I think are either good to know, or wasn’t clear to me when I purchased: 1. This thing is VERY light, and plastic feeling. It does feel like it could break pretty easily. I’d be careful with it. 2. Go ahead and splurg for the 12$ case made by the same company. It is great quality, adds a little weight to the product, and protects the screen if you aren’t quite ready to erase what you’ve written. 3. The templates that come with this product are great, but don't hold very well on the back of the product. The writing surface is actually translucent, and you put the template behind it. If it isnt perfectly flat it has trouble. I had to tape the template down flat so it would not warp where the template ‘dots’ are as the template moves around. The additional case does help hold the templates in, but I’m still glad it’s taped. 4. The erasing feature works, but it isn’t perfect. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to have but if you’re a little OCD about erasing things and it being perfect, I’d use something else. 5. The ability to lock the erase button on the screen is amazing. 6. The app does a great job of saving your images, although it does not do handwriting recognition like a Rocketbook. 7. The stylus kind of hangs off in an awkward way when put away. I think i might buy an adhesive loop so it doesn't catch on things. Seems like a poor design. My final thoughts are that this is a GREAT product if you’re realistic about what you’re getting. You are getting a relatively inexpensive writing pad that you can erase. If you taking quick notes, or are making a to-do list, it will serve you well. Also, I know I mentioned this before, but I feel like the case should ship with the item. I take notes. on everything and every activity. What I end up with is a bundle of notes that I have to sort through. I expected the usable surface to be .... larger. And now I have to download the app in the google store that lets me store the notes I take. I expect that I will be buying a couple more of these. I am concerned about the life span. let's see. UPDATE: With the app installed, I am fairly quickly able to save notes in a reasonable manner, and them ensure that they are logged by day and by name in two locations. I have some minor issues with the app usage, but maybe they will resole with practice or with a next-generation version. I am sod on the idea of digital paper.
