I rent and didn't want to deal with fixing the lights the house comes with, so I purchased these after reading reviews. They don't come with batteries, so make sure to buy them. The lights are bright when they initially turn on but then dim. They don't stay on that long, also the sensor is inconsistent. We have a lot of wildlife that go through our backyard, so I expected this to go off more often so either it's not turning on or we haven't had much traffic. I’ve owned a few sets of these over the years, and they’re amazing. I have a few indoors at my warehouse in unlit closets and 2 outside on an area I’m too lazy to run power to. I recently added two to the inside of a shed in my back yard. The batteries seem to last about 4 years (yes, I’ve had some longer than that) and I did have to replace one of the outdoor units after ~3 years. I live in Michigan and it gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter, we get it all. These are cheap, durable, bright, and easy to mount. ...I have been using Mr. Beams/Beams motion detecting spotlights for about 7 years now , and they are working great.....I am just replacing one of the eight lights I had after the 7 years of use........They have stood up to freezing weather and hot summers in northern Indiana..........Yes , they are wonderful and a great innovation at low cost.......great security lights!..........great for walking your dog at night on your property!.......easy to install.......you could put them anywhere around your house/shed/trees ........very happy! ... show more

We needed a battery operated motion light for our backyard where we do not get enough sun for a solar powered light. This has been perfect! Great for taking the dog out at night. It has bright light and always picks up motion. Added bonus of it looks a bit like a security camera from a distance and is a good deterrent that way too. The media could not be loaded. I normally purchase motion detection lights from the local Lowes store. My backyard and sides of the house are incredibly dark. The light I purchased from Lowe’s is just okay. The selection is limited. I wanted to see if there are better lights out there and there are. These lights are fantastic and blinding. I received two great lights for the price I paid for one okay light. I also love that you just add batteries and drill into the location you want instead of dealing with wiring and electricians. So I put one light in the backyard and one on the side of the house where I also added a camera. I plan to get more to add light to areas around the house that are too dark at night. ... show more
