Non-Contact thermometer reads interior temp at 869 degrees Fahrenheit. I put an insulating firebrick behind it. The heat from the rear of the unit was charring the wood benchtop about 1cm behind it.

Ok.. I love it but it’s gets EXTREMELY hot! I’ve burnt hair on multiple occasions using this thing. I wish it had a dial to control the temperature. Other than that, I love it!
