  • Altra Men's Lone Peak 7: Conquering the Trails in Comfort and Style
I'm not going to lie, I've been through a lot of trail shoes. From clunky behemoths to minimalist nightmares, I've seen it all. But the Altra Lone Peak 7? This, my friends, is a game-changer. It's like they took everything I love about trail running and distilled it into one perfect shoe. **First things first:** comfort. These shoes are like plush pillows for your feet, even after miles of gnarled roots and rocky ascents. The zero-drop platform and wide toe box let your toes splay naturally, preventing that cramped feeling at the end of a long run. And the Altra EGO™ midsole? It's like running on a cloud of springy goodness, soaking up impact and keeping your legs feeling fresh. **But don't let the comfort fool you.** These shoes are grippy beasts. The MaxTrac™ outsole digs into loose dirt, hugs wet rocks, and laughs in the face of mud. I've scrambled up scree fields and bombed down loose gravel slopes with unwavering confidence. The 5mm lugs are the perfect depth, providing traction without feeling clunky. **And the upper?** It's a thing of beauty. The seamless, stitch-less construction is like a zweite Haut, disappearing around your foot and moving with you like a second skin. It's breathable enough for summer sun and surprisingly water-resistant for those surprise puddles. Plus, it looks sharp. I've gotten compliments on these shoes from fellow trail runners and city slickers alike. **Sure, no shoe is perfect.** Some folks might find the wide toe box a bit roomy (though I love it for toe wiggle room on long runs). And the price tag might make some wince. But for me, the Lone Peak 7 is worth every penny. It's an investment in your feet, your enjoyment of the trails, and your overall trail running experience. **So, if you're looking for a trail shoe that's comfortable, grippy, stylish, and built to last, look no further.** The Altra Lone Peak 7 is the real deal. It's not just a shoe, it's a trail running soulmate. **Five out of five stars, hands down.** Buy these shoes. Your feet will thank you. **P.S.** I almost forgot about the StoneGuard! This little rock plate is a lifesaver on technical trails, shielding your feet from those sneaky hidden stones. Just another thoughtful detail that makes the Lone Peak 7 such a winner. ... show more

  • Why I am I just finding out about these!?
Size: 8.5 Color: Taupe
I trained for weeks and completed a timed 34 mile ruck with 60lb ruck pack in these. They held up perfectly with zero issues. Awesome, comfort, stability, grip, and fit. I have read that people have issues with them holding up. I did not have any! The white does get dirty, but come on, that's expected for white trail shoes. I have custom insoles made, and honestly didn't even need to use them with these shoes. They are that comfortable. The wide toe box is amazing! Seriously, I don't think I can go to regular shoes now. I would love see them make a western hunting/ cold weather boot. I do not regret getting the 7s over the 8. Im sure the 8 are great too. but I had no issues. ... show more

  • Terrific do anything shoe - comparison with LP5
Size: 12.5 Color: Green/Teal
Greetings, I have fallen in love with Altra shoes - their wide, roomy toe box and neutral drop have been game changers for me. My favorite shoe has been the Lone Peak 5, but the LP7 was on super sale so I picked up a pair, here are my thoughts: - the LP7s are a touch heavier and a touch more padded than the LP5. I so love the feeling of lightness of the LP5s, but as a school teacher, I must admit the the tiny bit more shock absorption is noticeable in the 6th hour I'm on my feet. Same great feeling, same groovy fit, just a bit more shoe where I can use it. - I am really hooked on my bright RED LP5s, but the LP7s I got are the Green/Purple combination, which has its own unique "Hulk" appeal. - Quality is the same (excellent), fit feels about the same, the only difference seems to be the engineering of the new rock guard around the lower sides of the shoe. Time will tell as to whether it's better - the LP5s have never torn or been breeched by pointy things. - Gotta say, LOVE 'EM, and having a second pair lets me spread the load between them so my LP5s will continue to have around for even longer. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Clear upgrade from Lone Peak 6
Size: 11.5 Wide Color: Navy
If you like to mountain hike, trail run, and rock scramble, and you have wide feet, the wide toe box feature of the Altra Lone Peaks make this shoe a good option. I purchased some Altra Lone Peak 6's about 9 months ago and unfortunately they have already worn out. The inseam (upper part) started to tear and the grips on the bottom of the shoe started to wear out. I liked the Lone Peak 6's for their wide fit and they were comfortable to a degree, but they did not have much support and were not durable. They gripped well on limestone rock and sandstone, but did slide around a bit on scree slopes as well on some of the rocky trails I go on. I already notice an upgrade with the Lone Peak 7 in comfort. they have a bit more padding. Also the grip and traction is clearly better, even on scree slopes I have noticed a clear improvement. The only thing I worry about with this shoe is long term durability. I'm not sure how Altra Lone peaks can improve on durability to make a more rugged shoe without giving up certain perks like the toe box width and overall flexibility of the shoe. I tried a pair of La Sportiva's as they appear to be highly regarded and more rugged, but their extra wide was not nearly wide enough in the toe box. ... show more

  • very capable and comfortable!
Size: 9 Color: Taupe
OK. I'm a fan! I bought a brown pair first and liked them so much that I bought a white pair, too! They fit snug in the heel (no sliding around) and roomy in the toe box. Perfect for me because I'm having difficulty finding a shoe that I can wear comfortably all day. These are the ticket. For me, they're as comfortable as flip-flops, but offer all of the protection and stability of a regular athletic shoe. From casual use to gravel trail hikes, these are my sneakers this season! Oh, and they should be great in hot weather, as they are super breathable....definitely not a cold weather shoe. ... show more
