  • Aleene’s — A Top Quality Glue for Whatever the Project!
Style: Art Glues
Aleene’s 21709 Jewelry & Metal Glue; 0.7 ounce tube. Aleene’s instant adhesive is a top quality product at a very competitive price. Look no further, this brand instant glue is quick and easy to use and leaves a strong bond. I build miniature 3D metal models that are extremely tiny and very delicate. I use this Aleene’s Jewelry & Metal Glue when the parts don’t want to necessarily line up, stay tightly in place or when something definitely goes wrong. These model parts are made out of extremely thin sheets of metal. Being that I use different size pliers to shape and manipulate the extremely tiny parts, sometimes things can and will go wrong. Each model is different, but I always seem to find myself needing to use this glue on some part of my model builds. This glue is a little different than your usual instant glue — it dries clear without the usual hazing you get from other glues. Also, it bonds almost instantly, but part of the glue still stays somewhat wet for a few minutes longer as well — so be sure not to touch the bonded joint right away. Maybe that’s their trick to it drying clear — an instant bond with a slower flash point??? This Jewelry & Metal glue is in gel form, which makes it easier to apply and it keeps the glue where you want it. Depending on how thick you apply the glue, it will change how quickly it totally dries. I have also tried to use “Zip Kicker” (CA Accelerator) with this glue, but I didn’t like the results — it seemed to get a bit messy, instead of speeding up the drying time. If you think you might want to try to use accelerator, or feel you need to use it, I would suggest to try testing it on something that really doesn’t matter first. That way, if something does go wrong, it’s no loss. I found it easier to just put a dab of this glue on a scrap piece of cardboard and then quickly apply the glue with a sharp toothpick to really be able to apply it in the smallest of places. This glue has really been a big help — my model builds and projects are that much better and go together with a bit more ease! Because of this glue, my models are built to perfection, and it makes working on delicate projects much more enjoyable by avoiding the frustrations of not having the proper adhesive for the job at hand. I too have had the cap get stuck on the tube before the tube is finished as other reviewers have stated. This is the only issue I’ve had so far with this glue. I usually end up buying another tube with another cap and use that cap on the original tube I started with to finish the tube. I might try taking the whole cap completely off each time and put a dab of glue on the cardboard that way. Not sure if it will make a difference, but it’s worth a try. I have also purchased the smaller Aleene's 94830 Jewelry & Metal Glue 3-Pack of 0.1 ounce tubes. I haven’t tried those yet, but maybe having less glue at a time will actually work better and won’t end up wasting as much. Either way, next time you are shopping for an instant glue, skip over all of those other glues, and pick up a tube or two of Aleene’s brand glue. Because of the many differences in each glue and types of materials out there, it might be best to first go to the Aleene’s website and compare each listing for each type of glue. Pay close attention to each description — not all glues are the same. Although many of their glues will look similar, there are sometimes very subtle differences in the way they are applied, the time it takes to dry and other important factors. These differences in the glues are just as important as to which tools you use on your project. I’ve stopped using other brand glues for my projects, and You Should Too! ... show more

  • Good Price, Works Great
Style: Art Glues
I have used this glue a couple of time now to adhere plastic jewels to metal. Works just as expected, with super quick adherence! Careful, or you'll glue your fingers together, too. Does not work on soft synthetic leather material - I didn't really expect it to, but I tried it anyway.

  • Best crafting glue!
Style: Art Glues
I would describe this glue as something between superglue and E6000. It takes longer than superglue to dry, but not too much longer. The viscosity is that of a gel superglue and the nozzle opening is pretty small for decent application precision. I use this glue for most of my crafting needs now: From reinforcing jewelry closure knots to wood to attaching stones to magnets. As other glue products I have tried have done, the glue does continue to seep out after use. The first package of this glue had to be replaced as the nozzle broke off inside the cap, so I am still trying to find the right moment to screw the cap back on without worry. I do make sure to wipe all around the nozzle to get most of the glue off to prevent this from happening again, although I was taking this precaution when the cap became sealed to the nozzle the first time. I’m hoping this doesn’t happen again because I absolutely love this glue! Did I mention the price is pretty much unbeatable for the amount and quality of the product? ... show more

  • Very adhesive! Work quickly and carefully, or you'll get your hands in a mess!
Style: Art Glues
I loved how strong the adhesive is, I use it for making earrings. But I am a bit messy and slow, and found that the spills or messes I made would dry faster than I could clean them. Most people aren't going to have that problem, though! lol. Great value for money. Great brand.

  • The lid gets glued on! Here’s some tips for you…
Style: Art Glues
I like the glue, it’s strong, dried clear for me and dries quickly. I HATE the tube on comes in and how the lid gets stuck. If your lid is stuck, soak in acetone and use pliers to remove. Highly suggest using something to protect your hands in case the metal tube breaks when trying to open. That would be a disaster! Use two pliers to hold the the two plastic parts so there’s no pressure on the metal tube. This glue is very strong and dries super fast on skin. Use caution. I’m currently trying the nonstick spray method to see if that works. Here’s what AI suggested to me… Hope this helps you! Super glue, or cyanoacrylate, doesn't adhere well to certain materials. Here are some suggestions you can use to prevent the lid from sticking to the tube: 1. **Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline)**: - Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly around the threads of the tube before screwing on the lid. This will act as a barrier and prevent the glue from sticking. 2. **Wax Paper**: - Cut a small piece of wax paper and place it over the opening of the tube before screwing on the lid. The wax paper will act as a non-stick barrier. 3. **Paraffin Wax or Candle Wax**: - Rub a candle or a piece of paraffin wax on the threads of the tube and the inside of the lid. This will provide a non-stick surface. 4. **Silicone Grease**: - Apply a small amount of silicone grease on the threads. Silicone is resistant to cyanoacrylate adhesion and will keep the lid from sticking. 5. **Non-stick Cooking Spray**: - Lightly spray the threads with non-stick cooking spray before closing the lid. Wipe off any excess to avoid a mess. 6. **Plastic Wrap**: - Place a small piece of plastic wrap (cling film) over the opening before screwing on the lid. This creates a barrier that can be easily removed next time you need to use the glue. By using any of these methods, you should be able to prevent the lid from getting glued shut, making it easier to use your super glue without hassle in the future. ... show more
