Purchased two for my backyard. Living in Nevada sun for solar anything is the best. We don't get many bugs out here but the gnats and flies are so annoying. These do the trick. And the self cleaning is wonderful. No odor when emptying the bottom at all.

It has a built in solar panel and a charging cable. Left outdoor to charge under the sun until dawn and just need to charge another hour or two indoor and this bug zapper will be on all night. I can see big and small bugs zapped to death and cling onto the metal grid. Once in awhile, the built in brush will turn itself to get rid of all the dead bugs on the grid the whole way round. This self cleaning function is excellent and the metal grid is spraklingly clean. You just need to remove the bottom lid once in awhile to empty the dead bugs. Update: Product was working fine a month and a half ago and now the zapper doesnt work. Amazon or seller doesn’t want to replace it. Veery disappointed. I thought it might not be getting enough sun so plugged it into an outlet. Still doesnt work. Absolutely rubbish. I wouldn’t have minded if it lasted at least a year but a month and half?!? This has been one of my favorite purchases this summer! We are always in need of a long lasting light source and constantly spraying ourselves with bug repellant so this was definitely a 2fer. It has 3 brightness settings and the lowest settings provides the longest lasting light. It's rechargeable 2 ways: USB and solar which is great because you can set it out during the day while you're having your fun and it will last all night long. Charging time is short so that's another great thing and it's not loud like most bug zappers. It has a handle on top so you can carry it around with you and comes with a little attachable hook so you can hang it anywhere. The bottom twists off for easy cleaning of the bug catcher so you're not making a mess everywhere. I bought 2, one for my tent and another for my stepsons tent and now we don't have to inhale all the chemicals that are in bug spray multiple times a night. All in all a great product! ... show more

I like the auto clean function that goes on every few days. I like the bug zapping and the blue glow from it. the 3 levels of brightness light on the bug zapper. What i don't like is that after a month of use, normal use and somewhat infrequent, when I turn the bug zapper option on the lamp just continuously makes a spark in one spot and a zapping sound. (but theres no bug being fried, it's just the electrical wire that wraps around zaps and zaps and it sounds dangerous) ... show more

I am very happy with my purchase. The solar bug killing lamp works well for small bugs, like black flies and mosquitoes. It is quiet and goes off in the morning with the right settings.
