I've been using 8bitdo products for the last 6 or so years, and I've not had to replace any due to failures yet. I was looking for a wired controller for my desktop PC so that I didn't have to think about recharging batteries every so often, and saw this. It's a light controller, but not so much so that it feels empty or cheap, and the buttons are responsive, with the biggest downside being the dpad. Its not as bad as say the Switch controller, but its not the best. Does get the job done however. The color choices may leave something to be desired for some, but overall, I like it quite a bit and its a great budget controller without feeling like it should only cost 20 dollars. A perfect affordable wired controller! Works perfectly on Windows 10, exactly what I bought it for. (Steam also worked.) It is light but durable, buttons are responsive. I was initially worried about the L/R triggers as it is very resistant to pressing, but the smallest press activates the trigger button. Every small detail works! The back arms of the controller have grooves for better grip too! The only negative I can nitpick is that the controller is not silent. The buttons are slightly louder than a PS4 and Switch Pro. I'm pretty disappointed with this cute controller. I would NOT consider it "plug and play". While it DOES work on my retro pie (you have to hold "B" button while plugging in the USB) it did NOT work on either of my two desktop computers running Windows 10. Also the firmware would not update properly with the 8bitdo's app. It's a cute product and I'm grateful for the fact that it's wired and feels good to use with my Rpie but I was sold on this product for the stated fact that it would be "plug and play" with a windows PC as well. If they somehow fixed this issue I'd give it an 11 out of 10. ... show more

This is a very affordable controller that is one of the best for its use case of any I've tried, including much more expensive options. If you're looking for a wired option on Windows/Linux/Mac/Android, this is ideal. It does of course have the limitations of being a wired controller and not having Switch or Xbox support, but if those aren't a problem, I'd put it at the top of your list. I also wanted to note that despite the description saying it only works on Windows 10 and up, it will work on *any* Windows machine with Xbox 360 controller drivers. That makes it an excellent option for games that support Xinput on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. ... show more

8bitdo is known for excellent controllers. So I hoped that even at this low price it would still perform well. It does perform great! Zero issues using it on an emulation mini pc. It feels solid but not heavy. The buttons and joypad feel like a nice quality controller. Wish for different colors but for this price it could be any color and I would still use.
