  • Works perfect with router
Color: Rose Red
It is a must have while using router to trim woodwork. The router comes with a small ruler but it is not very convenient like this item. And the price is good, easy to use, and could work on excised work.

  • Watch out for the slots in the bottom.

I ran into some problems with this product, so will devote this review to explaining what I found and what I plan to try, to correct it. If it all works as it should, I will follow up with a review, including some things that I find that can be done with it. First it is a good looking unit that is well built and very handy looking. It is all red anodized aluminum with good, solid construction. Nothing thin or tinny here...just good solid, stiff components that (mostly) fit together well. It has a router base plate that can be used alone or in conjunction with the beam, stops and "T-stop" end to increase the versatility possible with the whole system. Also the beam and adjustable T-stop can be used alone for layout work. It has both metric and ASME scales, in nice crisp white, etched numbers and letters...one set on each side of the beam. It can be used to run slots, arcs, circles, etc. In fact, Sigerio calls it a 4 in one tool. They explain it in some detail in their Amazon ad. My problem seems to be the same one some other reviewers have had. As shown in the accompanying photos, it will not fit my small router base properly. The router is a corded Genmitsu with the small round base most all newer ones seem to come with. A very standard unit...nothing exotic, different or special about it, so naturally I thought "It will fit this one". Now I take that back. If you look closely at the bottom base views in the photos, you will see that the slots are not in a true corner to corner configuration; but are offset from each other about 1/4" (blue tape to show). No matter which way I hold or turn or twist or push or pound, will all the base screws line up. I can kind of, get 3 to screw in but that throws the center line of the tool off from the center line of the router spindle, which throws all the angular measurements I will be using for planning and setting up the whole thing. AARRRGGHHHH!! But I'm not in the woodworking thing for income any more...just for the fun to be had. So, I'm just going to make an acrylic sub-base with two sets of holes...4 for the router tool and 4 for my router base. But not to waste good plastic, I think I'll either purchase or build one of those fancy, do everything bases I see on the internet. If you get one of these Sigerio sets (and they are good, versatile, reasonably priced tools in every other way I think) and it won't fit your base you should be able to just make a base to fit your router and drill two sets of mounting holes...problem solved (I hope). ... show more

  • Seems well made

  • Not what you think
Color: Rose Red
First of all the product came with zero instructions, but it did come nicely wrapped in a Chinese newspaper. I have eight routers and the holes did not lineup for any of them and they are all different brands. The hole for the router is not even centered on the holes for the screws. Take a look at my picture. I guess this is what I get for trying to save a few bucks on the real deal. ... show more

  • Parts well made. Holes almost hopeless for mounting a router.
Color: Rose Red
This is solidly crafted with a nice red finish. The adjustments work well. But there are problems. First of all, this will only work with a trim router (small base). Second, out of 4 trim routers that I have, the openings to attach a router work with only one. And that's a router you aren't likely to have made by Drill Tech. It's because the mounting slots on the jig aren't in alignment. However, if you want to go to the trouble, you can drill another couple of holes and probably be able to mount your trim router. But the measurements on the jig will probably be off. Having said all that, I like this jig for circle routing. I don't think I will use it as an edge guide. It's overly long and will be awkward. ... show more

  • Many possible uses; No instructions
Color: Rose Red
This jig is built well and pretty to look at but it’s lacking one important feature…some instructions for how to use it. I am a novice when it comes to using a router so it took me some time to figure out how to use it. I wanted to router a circle into a piece of 1x12” pine. It seemed like an easy enough task but, like I said, I’m a novice router user. The instructions they give you are for how to attach the guide bar, something easy enough to figure out on my own and not something I needed to make a circle cut. After some pondering I reasoned that the flat plate was where one would attach a router. My router lacked any holes in the plate with which to attach it to the jig. Not only that but my large router with an 8 inch diameter plate was way too big for the smaller plate on the jig. I managed to get my Dremel tool which I had router bits for, attached to the jig and thought I had it figured out. Dremel tools are good for many things but they make for lousy routers. The circle I managed to cut into the wood had jagged edges because the attachment holding the Dremel tool had a lot of play in it. I think I need one of the smaller routers I’ve seen advertised with a plate the same width as the one on the jig but I’m not ready to spend the money for one. The jig looks like it would be useful as an edge guide to carve a straight line into the wood and judging by the quality of the jig I think it would work great for that purpose. When I’m able to afford a router that is compatible with the jig I expect it will carve nice circles as well. ... show more

  • Don't waste your money
Color: Rose Red
The only thing I see this fitting in a child's toy router, the mounting plate is tiny, 3 1/2" X 3 1/4". There's no way any router can fit this. Trust the reviews on this one. I should have.
