I bought 3 bundles of this wood for several cutting boarders projects I'm working on. 6 cherry, 6 maple and 6 black walnut in each bundle.....54 boards total. I'm really disappointed in the quality.....and they don't have free returns, even though about 26% of the 54 boards are unusable for making cutting boards. As you can see from my pics.....discoloration, knots, holes in one piece, a chunk out of one piece and bowed boards. 14 of the 54 boards are unusable. There are also 4 boards that are bowed, but I can fix them on my jointer and planer.....although I shouldn't have to if they had sent me quality wood. I WOULD NOT recommend buying from this company, especially since they don't offer free returns on any of the wood that's bad/damaged. ... show more

    • Not all the boards are the size they claim
Went to glue up for a cutting board and found that some of the boards were not 2" wide or 16" long. Some boards were +- 1/8". I just wanted some boards that could be quickly glued up. Instead, I had to do some milling to get them all the same size. I know wood varies, but I would have thought with the description they would have been milled to the size stated. ... show more

    • Pretty good value, not without downsides
I ordered three packs of this bundle to make cutting boards. Overall, I think the quality and quantity of the wood for the price is very good value. However, there are some downsides I've found. 1) The color consistency, especially with the maple, is not great. This becomes a problem when you try to assemble a cutting board and you end up with different shades of one type of wood you're using in a pattern. 2) The width of the pieces is not totally uniform. They generally are about 2" wide, which is too big for one cutting board. So I end up cutting them in half, but despite my increasing attention to this detail and trying to consider it when making cuts, I end up with pieces that are slightly off so when I go to glue them up there's an unevenness that is hard to plane out. All that said, I have used these to make several beautiful cutting boards I'm giving away as gifts. I think if you spent a little more money you might be able to get wood that's easier to work with but if you're OK with some elbow grease and creativity these sets can give you good value. ... show more
